I'd talk to the manager upon pickup and maybe they will work with you to bring the cost down, or comp it/replace it. Perhaps the fact it's 4 years old played into their decision--that might be fair use as opposed to the 'known issue.' Most of the PMs that had cracking had issues fairly soon after purchase (mine cracked within months) so I'd guess they figured yours was a result of owner wear.
I just got a call today that my bag is ready and fixed from repair. They change the flap but the cracking was not addressed or fixed. This is exactly what i told my SA that i thought cracking canvas cannot be fixed. I am so annoyed because the flap on my bag was in excellent condition perfect patina too. I did not go there for them to change the flap. I insisted it was 4 years old. She said she will send it back again. At this point i dont know anymore it has gotten too stressful

I just received a call today that my bag was done. I went to the store to pick it up. And guess what after months of waiting my bag was no where fixed. They just change the flap and that’s it. I was so dissapointed i dont even know anymore
Oh no!!! Thats just bs! Did you take a picture of the whole bag before you brought it to the store? Yea I don't think they will fix the cracks at all. You should taken it the cobbler for cheaper price. The lv policy is just plain stupid.

Yes! I have so many videos and pictures. CA said it was miscommunication and that she will send it back again.

Ugh! How long they said before you get your bag back? I hope it won't take another month or 2. It's really annoying for the amount of money you pay to purchase the bag then the quality sucks and then you dropped more money for repair. Hopefully this time around they get this right or just ask for your money back then take your back to a good cobbler that specialize bag repair or maybe go to a different lv store. Please keep us posted once they get back to you. Will be crossing my fingers here!

She didn’t specify how long it will take. I explained it to her im just dissapointed and she told me she will wave the fees. But my thoughts was what am i gonna do with a bag thats cracking! The CA was actually very nice. She told me she will send it back again and noted to request for a replacement.

I know LV hasn’t been consistent when it comes to their customer services, but according to my local boutique’s manager (Canada, had this very conversation less than a week ago) LV has a “warranty“ of 5 years when it comes to canvas bags. Given that your bag is under 5 years if I were you I would definitely discuss that with your local boutique’s manager.
Furthermore, I don’t see how they can fix canvas unless they completely replace cracked side panels/gussets on your bag, which sounds unnecessarily complicated. Also, given well known issues with PM cracking I am absolutely shocked they didn’t just offer you an exchange. I had to bring in my 3 year old reverse PM back in November which had less noticeable cracks than yours and I was offered an exchange on spot. But then again, as mentioned before, LV is great but is lacking consistency…
Hello, thank you for your input. I actually got a call today that my bag is back from repair after 3 months! I went to my store before they close and upon checking my bag it is still not fix. They replaced the flap instead which has no issues and had the perfect patina. But the corners still had the cracks! When i went to the store 3mos ago i went there for the cracking issue that was my inquiry. I even ask the CA isn’t the cracking canvas cannot be repaired to my knowledge? She said they will fix it and i was so surprised and i went ahead with a $510 repair fee. The point is if they could of just replace my bag this would of been done long time ago. Now its becoming a nightmare of an experience for me. I also ask about the 5 year warranty and the CA said it’s not true and that its wear and tear. She ask if i would like to send my bag again for repair and she noted ‘request for replacement’. At this point i think i have no more expectations at all and will just do whatever is given even if its repaired or not. I still don’t have my bag right now.

I use an amazing local repair company for the repair of designer bags. It's called Rago Brothers and they can fix just about anything for a fraction of the price that most places charge. They are based in NJ but you can ship to them (and even email them for an estimate).
Thank you for this. And will check them. If my bag is still not fixed! At this point i have given up hopes that it’s gonna get fixed as after 3 months it was still not repaired when i went there today

No there's no 5 years warranty for LV bags. Chanel does offer that, not for leather issues though only for hardware like a shoulder chain strap. For LV mostly we get lucky to get a replacement or store credit for bags under 2 years but its like pulling teeth with no anesthesia beyond 2 yrs also its annoying because this rules vary from store to store or the SA you deal with. I was on the mall the other week where there was a LV store to the upper level and at the lower level tucked in a corner there was a bag repair shop / shoe cobbler with probably a dozen or more of LV bags hanging on the side wall and some on counter table waiting to get repair and pick up. Next time I swing by the mall I'll try to remember to take a pic.

I am so sorry to hear your experience has been so unpleasant. As I have indicated in my previous post, LV hasn't been consistent when it comes to after care customer services at all. Since your boutique insists it's normal wear and tear (despite known cracking issues on PM), I would discuss with the store manager the fact that the bag they have returned to you has been altered without your permission (unauthorized changes/repairs on the flap) and, therefore, is no longer the bag you have submitted. SA calling this occurrence a “miscommunication“ is a simple case of poor customer service. Regardless of what one would call it, it isn’t going to bring you your bag back in its original shape and form with perfect patina. I would insist your boutique should rectify this situation and offer you a proper replacement due to unauthorized alteration of your item.
I also was able to find pic of my cracked PM and as you can see the crack was less noticeable than yours. This bag was purchased in Europe and was over 3 years old ,yet my local LV boutique in Canada offered an exchange on spot citing known issues with canvas PM.
I find this whole experience so frustrating on your behalf as it sounds like it’s been “paved” with total disregard and dismissal of your concerns :mad:.

I have heard about this on Tiktok. I will give them a try! Thank you.

Hello, thank you so much! This experience just made me realize i cannot buy too many LV bags because to be honest i don’t want to deal with this again. I’m currently looking and checking out different brands. LV is no longer worth the stress. But anyways , im glad they offer you a replacement as it should be. Atleast they got that right! For now i think when i get my bag i will just go ahead and sell it and be done with it. I took it as a Learning experience a very expensive one. I will insert the email that i received from them ;

What a disappointment! I am sorry about your bag. Yea just let it go not worth the stress and headache the leather will eventually crack even more and by that time it be too late to get a decent amount for the bag. Have you check out Bvlgari? Their bags are amazing in quality and in price. We have a trend here that talks about the impeccable designs and quality of Bvlgari I have couple bags from them and to be honest they are absolutely gorgeous and unique and not too many people carry it around.

Yes!! I own couple of bags from bvlgari my favorite one is the top handle bag in karung leather then they have the bvlgari x casablanca collab in mosaic. Bvlgari is known for their serpenti forever bags then there's the cabochon style and the new one is the reverse top handle which is bit puffy but in very soft leather kinda similar to chanel lambskin. Here's the pictures of my new bag I just got this like less than a month ago I think (cant remember) snake head hardware is made of gold plated brass and enamel and the eyes are made with real blue jade gemstone. Bvlgari is known for their jewelry so they infused bit of gemstones on their bags. The handle for thid bag is convertible it can be remove then I can add the leather strap. The little snake is the zipper head even the inside lining is made of leather. Everything are very detail oriented. Just check their website so many too choose from. Hahah
