Hello, I am looking for anybody that has the same experience as me. I own a 4 year old Pochette Metis i purchased it i believe end of 2017. Fast forward i notice mine started cracking in all corners. I immediately went to my Saks LV and the CA told me she is sure it will get replaced as this is a very known issue. But she has to send it for repair evaluation. Well, few weeks later i was told i had to pay a whopping of $510 to get it repaired.
I was so shocked and I immediately told her it’s ridiculous. She ask me if i would like to proceed with the repair or get my bag back. (Still not fix)
I was really annoyed but ultimately i decided to just go ahead and proceed as i was left with no other options other than my bag will never be fixed and i have wasted too much time dealing with this already. She gave me the breakdown of the cost $120 for canvas care and $390 for replacing the whole entire flap as that’s the only way to fix the corners. Mind you my bag was in excellent condition except for the cracking.
I still don’t have my bag right now it’s still in repair but i really want to throw that bag in the trash!
When it will arrived does it even matter talking to the manager or just pay it?

I have an empreinte PM that had cracking but it wasn't in the same area as yours. It was on the glazing on the flap, which I understand is the known issue. I haven't seen cracking in the area you show, but maybe someone else will chime in. When I first took mine in, the SA checked with LV and they initially suggested repairing the bag but she pushed back since the bag was fairly new. They eventually agreed to replace it.

I'd talk to the manager upon pickup and maybe they will work with you to bring the cost down, or comp it/replace it. Perhaps the fact it's 4 years old played into their decision--that might be fair use as opposed to the 'known issue.' Most of the PMs that had cracking had issues fairly soon after purchase (mine cracked within months) so I'd guess they figured yours was a result of owner wear.

So sorry that this happened to you I had the same issue but my bag was less than 2 yrs old and I was able to get a store credit. Unfortunately it is a known issue with monogram canvass. According to my SA cracking of the leather can sometimes factored in as wear and tear, sun exposure, aging of the canvass and how we stored it. I know it's really annoying hearing that as most of the time it's not our fault. And knowing your bag is 4 yrs old maybe that's the reason why charged you that much. LV doesn't have any warranty so I guess it's best you just pay for the repair but keep an eye on the area/part they replaced hopefully there will be no more issue.

They're probably charging you since you've had it for four years. Luckily, they're willing to take it in for repair. Most times they'll tell you that cracked canvas is not repairable. Just make sure you inspect the whole bag carefully before you leave the store.

I know LV hasn’t been consistent when it comes to their customer services, but according to my local boutique’s manager (Canada, had this very conversation less than a week ago) LV has a “warranty“ of 5 years when it comes to canvas bags. Given that your bag is under 5 years if I were you I would definitely discuss that with your local boutique’s manager.
Furthermore, I don’t see how they can fix canvas unless they completely replace cracked side panels/gussets on your bag, which sounds unnecessarily complicated. Also, given well known issues with PM cracking I am absolutely shocked they didn’t just offer you an exchange. I had to bring in my 3 year old reverse PM back in November which had less noticeable cracks than yours and I was offered an exchange on spot. But then again, as mentioned before, LV is great but is lacking consistency…

LV usually never repair cracked canvas unless it was deemed as a known issue for that release. They always say it's wear and tear :( the best alternative is go to a cobbler that also repair bags and bring it there what they do is they will put like a bond in between cracks and re-glazed it and they charged way cheaper than LV as well.

I was really surprised too. I don’t know how i missed it since i do regularly check my bags. When i bought it 4 years ago the CA told me this is the new and improved after they fix all issues.

Yes it was possibly because it was 4 years old. The CA told me when i bought it it was the new and improved. And they fixed all issues. I was so happy then when i heard it. I also understand paying if i
I thought they wouldn't fix cracked canvas? I wonder how it will be after repair..
This is what i thought too. But according to my CA is they will replace the whole entire flap to fix the cracking issue. And thats is why it is $310.

I was really surprised too because i thought you cant fix a cracking canvas! When the CA saw my bag she told me right away it’s a known issue with this bag. She specifically said she is sure i will get a store credit or if i want too i can get the same exact bag. I saw a video on YouTube hers was the same 4 years old and LV replaced it right away. It’s been months since my bag is in repair. The breakdown of the cost was $390 for repairing/replacing the whole entire flap to fix the corners and $120 for canvas care. I was taken aback when she said it will cost $510

I just received a call today that my bag was done. I went to the store to pick it up. And guess what after months of waiting my bag was no where fixed. They just change the flap and that’s it. I was so dissapointed i dont even know anymore
