I normally go the "classic" route, so I am surprising myself by voting for the Submariner. I think because it is fresh and more masculine, people don't normally think of it as a classic... but I think it is certainly one, in an unconventional way.

Submariner but if you wear lots of long sleeve shirts maybe the Datejust, else the watch would be cumbersome. You should try it while wearing a long sleeve shirt, if you do wear for work, because you might not be able to button your sleeves. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Antonio! Since it's going to be a very long term purchase, I'm going to vote for the datejust. It will be more versatile - and yes, definitely with the roman numerals.

^^ Haha :) I hope I think it will be my only at least for a while that is why it has to be perfect

Hello Smallfry:wave:
Thanks everyone for the comments I really like reading your opinions because you make me think about stuff I didn't consider.

My dads a guy (just realized how redundant that sounds) and he chooses the datejust even though i prefer the sub waaay more. He says its much more of a beautiful watch and classic while the sub is too "sporty". He has a few rollies too but i still stand on my decision. Just thought you'd like some different perspectives.

Since you are male, the Sub will look great on you now at 26 and just as awesome on you when you are 50 :). The DJ II is now
42mm and is an endless classic look. You can't make a wrong choice here :). I have a Rolex Lady President, SS Datejust 38mm and the Oyster Perpetual Date 34mm in SS. I love them all! I am SO wanting a Submariner, black bezel/black dial but at 40mm I'm afraid it is too large :(. My next Rolex will most likely be the Yatch Master. The new blue dial is GORGY! You will enjoy your new Rolex for years to come.

Your watches sounds gorgeous! Thanks for the comment, about the sub I think you should try it. I know is 40mm but it didn't feel much bigger than the 36 mm dj. The difference was really small.

I am buying my watch next week and I haven't made a final desition. They must think I am a pain in the @s* at the store because I have been there again to try the watches :) ...

Your dad is very right! The dj is more "beautiful" the sub is very rough I think.
I appreciate your comment :)
