Hello All!
I am looking for this particular bag. Anyone know the name of it? It was on Ebay last week and I wanted to bid but forgot! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please make sure to scroll down so you can see the image of the bag. For some reason I could not link just the picture of the handbag here.

This bag wouldn't have had a name apart from coated canvas original G-print and web-stripe 'envelope shoulder bag' from the Gucci Acessories Collection - and it would be 1980s NOT 1970s.

This is a sample bag from the mid-00s, it's a mini Bamboo ring hobo in red fox. I am surprised that Gucci couldn't tell you because they have all the info on the serial nr.

Red fox is one of the most delicate of foxes even furs in general, so please be careful ;).

thank you very much for the good news :) it was so very helpful! i know, i was wondering why they couldn't help me even though i had the serial number. i guess he just had no idea what he was doing, lol. :roflmfao: i'm interested in selling this, could you tell me how much it's worth? i'm sorry for all the questions, i'm just new at this.

My pleasure.

I'm not so good with pre-loved valuations because I inherited most of my old Guccis and bought my others new from the store but a new small fur covered evening bag would be about between $3-4k.

I will take you through my reasoning for the valuation:

Some models of Guccis keep their value but unfortunately not the Bamboo-ring (unfortunately for me too because I have a leather/web-stripe one). 2005 was a tricky year because neither Tom Ford nor Frida Giannini was creative director (even though Frida designed all ladies' bags from 2002) and so the Year's offerings don't have so much prestige as before or after.

You might also have to factor in that while people seem happy to buy exotic skins they often wont touch fur so that narrows your market further plus some high bidders wont want the writing on a tag or samples. Depending on the condition up close I guess you could probably get $3-600 bearing in mind the detractions I think it will be more like the lower end.

Probably a consignment store can get you that kind of money rather than bargain-bucket on-line auctions because they will have higher end-consumers who are looking for a special piece but then again I don't do much of either so maybe someone else can chip-in with the best place and way to sell.

Good luck!

Whoops posted this in the wrong thread earlier (forgive me I'm new!)
Could you identify this please?

Hey, looking for some help identifying this bag. Looked online and haven't seen anything that resembles it. I was told it was about 15 years old, and as you can see in the last pic the only number in the bag is '47', any help would be appreciated, thanks.

More like over 40 years old but it is gorgeous :D

Wow! I am so impressed with your knowledge of Gucci! Thank you for sharing, Papertiger!!! Did they come with Victory zippers? I need to have the lining replaced but don't want to waste a trip to the Gucci store if they won't touch it. Thanks again!!!

It is a bit worrying that the zip is not brown like the body of the bag. I will check out my bag (I think the zip pulls were quite unusual and pointy and I don't remember 'victory' though although it's a smaller bag).

40 years old?! Wow thanks! What does the number 47 mean though and would you happen to know what the style of the bag was called?

Thanks again :smile1:

47 is part of its model # and the only 'name' it would have had. Hardly any bags had names.

Interesting to see the styling origins of contemporary bags like the Marrakech and Brick Lane from this bag though
