I live in Texas and since the tax here is cheap, I don't know if walking in or on-line ordering is to my advantage.

I believe most websites charge the tax that is appropriate for your state. Recently I was ordering something from another site and when I changed the shipping address from NY to CA the tax changed accordingly.

Tiffany's will charge you Texas sales tax when they ship it to you. The only advantage to buying it in the store is you won't have to pay for shipping but sometimes Tiffany's has free shipping specials when your purchase is above a certain dollar amount.

^^ Yes!! Pardon me for not posting sooner. I spent a good amount of time to try on quite a few different necklaces/pendants and decided on a Heart cap pendant (8-8.5mm cultured freshwater pearl on a 16'' sterling silver chain). I'm not a heart person but this one looks more like an acorn and the length and the simplicity are just perfect for me. I'm wearing it today and love it dearly.

I love the Elsa Peretti line. I have quite a few necklaces that are from Peretti. They are very sculptural and beautiful!!!

Thank you all for your kind words! Hey rileygirl, good to see you here! It was a toss-up between the wave lariat and this one, and I liked the way this sits around my neck more. I found out afterwards that there are quite a few similar pendants out there for cheaper prices , but hey, I know what mine is and the story behind it.

congratulations on your first tiffany piece! i say you can never go wrong with a classic strand of pearls, though i do really like the lariat.
