I prefer the Cartier and the JLC over the Rolex. The reason is that I like a classic and elegant, slightly vintage look.

I echo this, I like the vintage classic look of that Cartier in yg with the leather strap.

My dream watch is actually a diamond face all SS JLC reverso, on the second hand market they're about 5k so not happening at this time that I just put it on hold forever. So yes I am a fan of the reverso but only with a metal band and preferably with diamonds since the diamonds are so subtle on it. I find Cartier on the other hand look amazing with leather band.

I can relate to your post because I was also searching for the right watch to wear when I wear my yellow gold jewelry. I entertained a two-tone watch for ages and came close to getting a second hand two-tone Cartier Santos, but in the end decided I prefer the look of a yg bezel with leather band even though I still adore the Santos. I ended up wearing a vintage Hamilton Wilshire, it's a re-issue of a style they made back in the 40's so it has that vintage feel that I like but in the men's size it's more modern yet not huge at all.

What kind of diamond Cartier do you have? You got me curious lol.

Oh and I wanted to add that it seems JLC do not hold their value. I think Rolex would hold its value most between those options. I would think the Rolex style you posted would be more popular and in demand over those other styles.

I am a fan the JLC. Classic, understated, and it is considered a much more exclusive, premier brand than Rolex or Cartier. JLC watches also have better movements IMO... But in terms of resale, Rolex and Cartier will fare better because people tend to go for those "better known" brands... I put the " " because your regular person on the street might not know JLC but everyone knows Rolex and Cartier.

I have watches from all 3 brands. Everyone notices my Rolex and Cartier. But when I do I business and need to impress, out comes the JLC.
