To my understanding, you dont need to pay for the bag when you put your name on the waiting list. This is because the price of the bags always go up, so you can lock in the current price for a future bag.

Yes, you don't need to pay when you leave name on waiting list, but you cannot lock in the current price since you have to pay for the bag according to the latest price that Hermes put on. That means if there is a price increase, your bag arriving at that time still will go up in price.

Hay, footlocker, did u manage to get your birkin yet? I am in Sydney, and I think aus now has good stock every now and then, but you have to pay higher price since aus is one of the most expensive place to buy Hermes items =(

For the same reason as every other lady.....because I don't really need it.....I just want one. I won't be put on a waiting list and I travel enough to hope to find one on a shelve somewhere. I'll visit Bal Harbour during spring break and I'll be in N.Y. during the third week of March. I'm not really good with waiting games anyhow...but that's just me.

lord knows I know how you feel. Just keep going. Truly it will happen when you least expect it. Once it does you will euphoric. In order to get what you want you need to inspire a c'est la vie attitude. It will come.
