Hello - I am ready to purchase my first Birkin - I would like to get a Black 35CM with Gold hardware. I'm willing to wait for it, but am afraid I won't even be able to get on a waitlist. I just called a boutique in Florida (where I live) and they said there hasn't been a waitlist for years and that unless you come into the Hermes store regularly, they will not let you purchase a Birkin! This is scary, because I really really want to purchase one, but know that I will never be able to afford an entire collection (maybe 2 or 3 if I'm lucky)!!
Anyway, does anyone know if there are any Hermes stores that will sell to me? I'm going to Hawaii in a couple of months and sometimes the people there are much more hospitable! I don't want to use a reseller - I really want to purchase from Hermes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! :crybaby:

I would be surprised if anyone says otherwise.........but going into your local H store will probably be your best bet. I was in L.A. over the holidays and I was told that some of their most important clients made it a point to schedule a visit to the store, at the same time, 6 days a week. I get the same thing in New-York, Boston and Florida. Good Luck.

No, they just hope to get what they're looking for.......before someone else gets their hands on it. Funny thing is, most SA's agree that "almost" every other woman is looking either for a Birkin or a Kelly. My SA in New-York once said to me << it's quite fustrating to have to be asked quite constantly for the same bags in "almost always" the same color>>. I'm on the hunt for exactly the same bag you're searching for. :shame:

For the same reason as every other lady.....because I don't really need it.....I just want one. I won't be put on a waiting list and I travel enough to hope to find one on a shelve somewhere. I'll visit Bal Harbour during spring break and I'll be in N.Y. during the third week of March. I'm not really good with waiting games anyhow...but that's just me.

I'm new and actually signed up today. :)
Well, I live in Hawaii and first time I contacted Hermes store today.
They do not take any order and there is no Birkin at moment, they said though.
I will stop by tomorrow, I would like to see and talk w/ SA tomorrow.
One of SA was really nice on the phone (even though she told me do not take order...) I will see what happen and let you know.
I would like to have birkin too but I'm not sure right time to have one myself or too early??
Anyway, if they have picotin, I will purchase tomorrow or something else.
Cannot spend too much but after tax return, I will spend a little for myself.

The shop on Waikiki beach is really well stocked. I'm sure if you check frequently, you'll find something good. The SAs there are really sweet. I'm sure if you build a relationship with one of them, they will help you out. I was only there once and they were all so nice!

Hmm... this thread hasn't been updated since 2008, but since I'm still in the hunting of my first birkin... well, even though my saving still not enough, but I'd like to learn how to get my first one.:confused1:

First of all, I live in Perth, and there is no Hermes here, the nearest may be Sydney ( or Melbourne ) store. Should I go to Sydney/Melbourne every now and then? which is not very economical at all, coz I will lose my savings on air ticket!!:cry: Will the SAs in Sydney/Melbourne take any phone call and discuss birkin/kelly on the phone?

Or should I go to Paris one day and try my luck to see what I can buy at the store? Just in case the one I want is not in store and I decide to put my name down on a list, what happens if the bag arrives one? Should I order air ticket to Paris just to pick up a bag? or Can the SA ships it to Australia?---> very unlikely.

There isn't much choice for me... but I really want to go through H boutique experience with the first birkin, as reseller may mark up the price so much these days... :sad:

Hello, I am a newbie in this game and have been trying to put my name on the wait list however, I was told that it is officially closed. Dying to get hold of 1 Birkin / kelly whatever the size or color. That was 3 years ago. Down here where I lived, I was told that to put my name on the wait list, I would have to pay up the full price of the bag. Is this how it work? Advice appreciated.
