Please help me decide whether to keep or exchange my bag

I think your bag looks beautiful! But if puffy and shiny quilts are important to you, then you should exchange it and get something you LOVE. If you keep it you might still end up chasing a puffy and shiny CF later down the road! However, if this was super difficult to get and you're not willing to pay more when a puffy and shiny CF comes along (you know, price increases... not saying there is one coming up of course, but it's just inevitable), then I say keep it because to me it looks gorgeous! Personally, I prefer a matte caviar to a shiny caviar!

Let us know what you finally decide to do!

She is gorgeous! However, I agree with many here, if YOUR heart doesn't love this one, exchange it for one that makes you fall in love every time you see it. It's too much $$$ to settle for something you are iffy about.

Thank you all for your kind replies, really helped me a lot.
In the end I kept the bag and I love it! I have no regrets (except for not getting the bag 5 years ago)

However I do have to share I’m really disappointed with the level of service of the Chanel boutique I bought the bag from, they were very arrogant. No drinks, not even a drop of water offered to me while I was taking the time to closely look and inspect the bag.
At this price range, one would and should expect a more memorable and pleasant shopping experience.
So now I’m just trying to focus on my beautiful dream purse and trying to forget about the crappy service tbh…

I’m glad you are enjoying the bag! Sorry to hear about the bad customer service. I’ve found that Chanel’s customer service can vary so widely. I’ve met some great SAs but also a number who act like we are wasting their time…

If it helps, I too just bought a small classic flap from a SA referred by a friend. The SA was very kind and fun and we hit it off completely, but I wasn’t offered water or given any gifts, etc.

they offered water?? i was only offered water at Hermes in china, i saw coffee was offered as well to other customers.....never at Chanel (HK and NYC)....

Flat quilts look soooo much better than puffy quilts. I think puffy quilts look kind of cheap and over time, they deflate and look worn. The flat quilts look sophisticated and beautiful. I actually exchanged my WOC from puffy to flat
I agree. @MissMMO Keep in mind that the quilts will deflate over time. And some of the lambskin deflated quilts look very unappealing. At least, to me they do. Some people love the look. I think it's a personal choice. I would keep the bag if I were you. For the price point, I would stay away from lambskin. But each person has a different preference.
Beautiful bag

I was offered water at the Chanel boutique in Beverly Hills, while the SA went to search for a bag I wanted. They didn’t have it in stock but she was really sweet and looked through the catalog for inventory at other stores. I wasn’t even carrying a Chanel bag and was casually dressed. Sure wish I lived in LA so she can be my SA :D She mentioned that once the Beverly Hills boutique reopens (it’s now in a temporary location), it will be the largest store in North America.

No, I wasn’t offered anything. I didn’t think much of it either. Maybe if I had been there for a long time? I really don’t think it’s personal. Like I said, the SA was referred by my good friend and was absolutely lovely. Lack of beverage didn’t take away from my experience! This was at the Beverly Hills boutique, btw.

Yes, the new store will be incredible! 3 stories!

oh i didn't think it's personal either....i was just surprised they do.
can i ask you something?? in the US, i am curious if you guys can just go into the store or need to wait in line to get in?
since covid, we have to wait in line or contact our SA first to be let in to the store.
i missed those days that i could just walk in and see if there's anything interesting.

From what I’ve seen, there is a line outside of the boutique for those without appointments. They are allowed in once a SA is available. Those with an appointment get checked in and wait for the SA to come out. You are able to make an appointment online if you do not have a specific SA you work with.

The line for those without appointments is sometimes quite minimal. I’ve seen it long during the weekend, but weekday mornings or early afternoons are usually quiet with little to no wait.

I’ve walked in in the last few months without an appointment or standing in line, in both NYC and Beverly Hills. The Beverly Hills store did ask me if I had an appointment and when I said no, they did a quick check of whether SAs were available before letting me in.
