Throwing a wildcard into the mix (even though I know this wasn’t your original question) but have you considered the amulette necklace as a 24/7 piece? There is always talk about it being discontinued down the line and they have certainly cut down on production, but you could totally wear the onyx and dress it up or down. Yara Shahidi wears the pearl amulette necklace as a 24/7 piece and it does well dressed up or down. It seems like a versatile piece.

IF you’re already set on one of the two choices….then I would say it really boils down to your own personal style. The clash is more modern and edgy to me. I like the chain much better. The Love seems more of a classic, more recognizable Cartier staple piece. So, if you’re into brand recognition (and that’s okay, some people are) I would go with the love. I believe the clash will be more “under the radar” even though the clash collection is gaining more popularity…it still doesn’t scream Cartier out in the wild unless you’re on this forum or follow fashion bloggers. If you’re someone who likes matchy matchy and already own a love bracelet or ring (or plan to one day) I would say go for the love. Same goes for the clash…if you already wear or plan to purchase a clash bracelet (or other pieces from the clash line) then I would go with the clash necklace but that’s just me.

Since this is a piece you’re planning to wear 24/4, I would also consider what other jewelry you wear on a daily basis and what else you plan to purchase in the next couple years/have on your wishlist.

The love necklace is more recognizable but lighter. Just a side note, but the diamond on the Love necklace tends to flip and not lay flat for some reason. Personally I prefer the Clash as it has more presence. I’m attaching pics of me trying on both necklaces at the boutique.

Thank you so much for the photos, they are extremely helpful since I don’t have a chance to try them is store. Both necklaces look beautiful on you!

Thank you for your opinion! I like Amulette necklaces but not in love with them, if that makes sense. They remind my of Packman  I also would be nervous about damaging the stones in showers, pools etc.

I really like VCA on others, but don’t like it on me. Flowers and butterflies are not really my style, I prefer more industrial pieces. And I would be totally afraid to wear those gemstones 24/7 (although I know a lot of people do it with zero issues)
If you are more industrial, then the clash lol
but, if you love both, have you considered that this is simply the one to get first?

Another vote for the Clash necklace. That's on my wishlist too. I just find it so casually elegant & modern with a slight edge. I dress casually most of the time and it would go well with anything I wear. GL deciding! What a fun decision to make!

Do you wear any other daily jewelry? Some people like to mix and match metals, others don’t. I didn’t know the clash only came in rose gold until now!
I wear dainty diamond studs in platinum and my wedding set is also in platinum. I also have Trinity ring, which I wear occasionally. I don’t mind mixing metals at all, just prefer YG for some reason. But I believe that Cartier RG is pretty subtle, not too pink, so I don’t really mind it. Just wish (as many here) that it would also come in YG…

Have you thought about the C de Cartier necklace then? I think it would look great with your existing collection.

Another vote for the Clash necklace. I have it and was also concerned about the seemingly delicate chain, but my SA assured me it’s strong. I’ve had no issue with it. The other reason is that since this will be your one and only necklace, the Clash can be dressed up or down so in my mind, more versatile than the love necklace which IMO seems more casual. I favor yellow gold but the clash line is only slightly pink.
Throwing a curve ball here but have you considered the interlocking love rings necklace? I find it more comfortable than the clash (not so heavy) and reach for it more often, plus it comes in yellow gold, with or without diamonds. They’re all beautiful!

The love for sure, the clash looks unoriginal and inspired by/ripped off from an Indian jeweler. My mom has multiple pieces that look similar in her safe deposit box… Don’t get me wrong…she has some beautiful pieces I’d like to inherit but the clash style just looks like a design she’s had since the 80s. It doesn’t look edgy imo, just outdated.
