If I could choose between buying pre-owned or buying new, I would prefer to buy new. I prefer to make my own "history" with it. 
Since you are slowly moving toward watches, I think a brand-new Rolex will feel more like a significant purchase for you. It is also something you can wear, literally, 24/7.
Plus, a Kelly to carry as an every day bag *might* wear down sooner than a Rolex worn every day...

Adding a 3rd rolex into your rotation will see you manually winding them all the time. A automatic movement is meant to be worn daily. Unless of course you use a watch winder.

Very hard to match bag hardware, but a lot of my jewelry pieces are rose gold, matches my skintone better.

Yes, I would use the watch perhaps 50% of the time? I lied about daily, I was just so excited.
Since the watch has diamonds, I'd probably wear it more at night since I have a "work" one without diamonds. The bag I would use on weekends/dinners? So maybe 1-2 times per week? I don't really want to carry a Kelly to work. And yes I have thought about PP!!! I would like the one with moon phases. But I would def have to win the lottery for that! The one I like is upwards of 80k!!! O_O

Yes, I would like new for both. Especially the watch since it has so many moving parts and dials/mechanics can easily be swapped out (to older Rolex version, thus nulling warranty).
Yeah, the Kelly will definitely not be an everyday bag for me. I don't carry a purse most days. I just use my scrub pockets!
Whoops. I guess I need to read more on watches. They need to be winded? Sometimes I set one of the watches down for a week or 2, then just adjust the time and give it a few shakes when I am ready to use it.

I vote the Rolex. In my family they are heirlooms. I am wearing my mother's and my mother is now wearing my grandmother's. The bag, well, while it's great, if you truly use it, it won't last the length of time as the Rolex. As i've said, the watch i am wearing is now 2nd generation!
