Price difference ?
Good question. #1 fluted gold bezel with diamond markers $11600. #2 scattered diamond bezel with Roman Numeral markers plus pave diamond VI $14500. #3, which is #2 but without the pave diamond VI $13000 (don't seem to justify $1500 for tiny speckles of diamond chips in one single marker).

I know the photo that I posted for #1 is not the exact, lastest version. Latest one is attached below (exception is that the dail will be silver). This newer version looks finer and more elegant.

Photos do not truely represent the difference between #1 and #2. In real life, I find the scattered diamond bezel more appealing, because the diamonds on the bezel stand out much more (more sparkles, whiter, and brighter). The diamond markers seem to disappear from view hidden undeath the case cover. They also appear dark and lifeless. Guess I need to check out the diamond markers in other Rolexes to confirm my observation.

Although the scattered bezel speaks to me a lot more, I can't help but think that I should stick with #1. First, the price difference is almost 25%. Second, I am afraid that the scattered band style may fade with time, whereas the #1 combination is definitely classic and timeless. While the scattered band stands out pleasantly, I think I can have the same effect by wearing a scattered diamond bangle or diamond bracelet next to my Rolex watch. In other words, I want my watch to be a watch rather than diamond jewelry. Do I make sense?

I am thinking about checking out the all yellow gold version with President's chain/wrist band (with diamond markers of course). If I am to pay more money for the scattered daimond band, I may as well put the money on the all gold version, I think.

At this point, I am still clueless about what I like most. Any additional insights are appreciated. (I like the comment about the smooth surface of the scattered diamond bezel.)

I found this photo of the scattered diamond bezel from somewhere. I think this photo captures the beauty of the scattered diamond bezel very well.

Love the color combination and the chain style (except that I may want to choose a lighter color dial, so I can see the time).

I actually like the updated version much better! I love this watch-I have basically the same one! 36 mm, stainless DJ with fluted bezel, silver dial and diamond markers-classic, elegant and wears like iron. I've had it 2 years and not a mark on it!!!! Good luck with your decision. Both are gorgeous but #1 will stand the test of time and if you ever decide to sell, I think it will hold it's value better.

I like this color.

Really tough decision. I truly like the second however I always like classic when it comes to a timeless piece like Rolex. That said, I vote for the first one if this is someone's first Rolex. I would like the second choice if it was a second addition to a Rolex collection. You have to love it forever.

They are both stunning. Numb 1 is times less and in years from now you would be glad you got something that you can wear everyday and not feel trendy or outdated. Jewelry should be classics let your next pair of shoes be trendy. Example years ago it was ideal to have Tiffany heart tag bracelet we'll I only wear yellow gold so I purchased it. Now I feel like it's to outdated and trendy when I should of spent less money and got silver because it was such a trendy piece. You can always add on a diamond bezel later on I'm life at any jeweler. ;) but congrats and enjoy on whatever you get!

I know you were wondering if the diamond markers on the first watch will be dull and get lost. I have them on the silver dial and think they stand out and are substantial looking. Hope this helps.

I agree that a Rolex should look like a watch as opposed to a jewelry style watch. Just my opinion when it comes to something classic like Rolex.
