I was bought a pair of "Alta Ariellas" from the seller pinklady216, which were delivered this morning. They are faker than fake.

http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280292964983&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018

I can't take pictures until tomorrow morning but there is no question that they are fake. They stink horribly of some chemical and no part is made of leather, obviously. The box is fake and the dust bags are fake. The boots were shipped from China as well, as it turns out, not the US!

I paid via Google checkout (never again!) and I'm about to mail the seller to give me a refund or I'm calling my bank tomorrow. I know you can't tell from the pictures in the listing as they are blurry, but the boots in front of me are so blatantly fake that it makes me sick. This is my first bad experience with eBay :crybaby:. I sincerely hope I get my money back one way or another.

I'll post the pics tomorrow so we can all report the monstrosities!

Well, in the listing it does say that she accepts returns, so maybe you'll get your money back without any trouble. I will post the listing in the fakes thread so that the girls can report it and the listing will get pulled, which will help if you need to file a claim or something. So sorry this happened to you, and I hope you get your money back!

I'm so sorry that's happened to you - I've just reported them so hopefully that'll make it easier for you to get your money back. Did you use a credit card to pay? If not, I think you may have to contact google checkout, as ebay probably can't do much here in terms of buyer's protection, but I have no experience with google... so sorry for you...

Oh my goodness I'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal. I just took a peek at that auction it looked like Ginevra and Babel had a child.....and it ended up being a birth defect.....WTF is that monstrosity? Clearly a fake even from those few photos alone. And not a thing like a Alta Ariella (which would have a seam going down the front middle and a hidden platform; the ones in their photos aren't even a CL style, period). But please post some photos of the actual boot your received when you get a chance. I think it'll be helpful to others to see exactly what type of "product" the fakers actually send out. I have a feeling it's probably worse than the ones pictured in their auction.

Even if you paid via Google Checkout, I think you still have recourse against the seller as long as you paid by credit card (and GC only takes credit cards, not bank transfers). Call your CC company right away and also initiate the dispute/claims process via GC (for "item significantly not as described - fake").

ETA: I cannot believe that auction for a clear fake got bid up to $600+.....sigh.

foxy, I feel like an idiot, no question :shame:

I suppose if there's something we want to believe, X-Files style, we will! I thought, eh, it's just the angles the pics were taken from that were a little funny etc. I've not seen the style in real life. By the way, the seller's communication was very good and didn't seem dodgy at all. We shall see what happens next!

Awwww ^^ You'r not the only one to do it and wont be the last.
Alot of people have bought fakes off ebay. (Although ... the dustbag & box was abit of a giveaway!)

I was stupid enough to win a pair last year. The seller had used stock photo's. Through my own stupidity i didnt think! Sadly i wasn't able to get my pennies back but that was Paypal's fault. (Gave me the wrong advice on how to get my money back and deal with this ebayer) Like you the seller stated they were from the US but infact were from China. Ah well, i've learnt my lesson!

I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll get your cash back. She appears to refunded in the past.
I also reported the listing :)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. You're not on your own and you sadly won't be the last

Hopefully because the listing has been removed and it's reported as fake you will be able to get your money back

I had a close shave with a fake pair too, It's the reason that I found this wonderful forum. I bought a pair ( minibouts ) then realised when I was sent the tracking number and where it was coming from that they were fake ( China, even though they said they were in the UK ! ) I created enough problems harrassing the seller that they refunded me until the shoes arrived, at which point he said I could either pay or return if I wasn't satisfied with the quality ( cheek of it !! ) luckily for me they got sent to the wrong place and I never got them so didn't have that hassle to sort out too. Needless to say I reported him to ebay and he no longer sells !

Realising there were fakes out there horrified me and led me here to find out how to spot them, this is where my addiction really began :graucho:

I'm glad I found this place though as I'm sure that bad experience would have put me off for life !

The listing has been pulled. You should be able to get a refund no problem, even if it's through your bank. So sorry this happened!!!!!

I thought sellers were no longer allowed to offer Google Checkout on ebay? Or was it some kind of third party thing?

That's what I thought. When you do that, you've basically taken yourself out of any buyer protection offered by eBay. I know Google has a buyer protection program too, but not when it comes to eBay purchases. Sounds odd to me:confused1:

^^That's what I was thinkg Jet. If the seller sold outside of ebay rules that might work in the buyers favor here..coupled with the fact that the listing has been removed. I don't know what ebay may or may not be able to do as far as getting the buyer her money back though. I don't think Google checkout has any SNAD claims or anything like Paypal does. she could always do a chargeback on her CC.
