I don't know much about bags so please forgive me for asking this..looking to purchase a Chanel evening bag, preferably gold, for a special anniversary. Please send me pictures of what you love. I searched and could not find many options. Thank you so much.

They made this reissue in the mini size for 20A(?) I believe so you MIGHT be able to still find it in boutiques. I think the style number for it would be AS0874 and the color would be N7987 but I'm not positive.
If you can, I would go to a chanel boutique and see what they have and try it on too.
You have to narrow it down to style (classic flap, reissue, clutch, coco handle, boy, etc) and see if it's the shade of gold and hardware color combo that suits you.
There is a color reference library but Metallics can be any color that's metallic and it doesn't have alot of posts like the color libraries

Also to help out more since you're new.. i'm not sure if you're looking only at new or preloved. If you're looking into preloved, I would be careful of the type of fabric.

Even though caviar is ideal, the price is cheap because it's from 2015 when the iridescent caviar was suede like and wear and tear was horrible. The leather wore out very easily. Color transfer/staining on this type of caviar this specific year was bad too. Usually you dont see color transfer with caviar often or wear. Years 2014-2016 iridescent caviar was not good.
Some crinkly metallic can also rub and turn black. It's unfixable. I would try to go for caviar,calfskin, goatskin. If you're only using it for special occasions, lambskin is fine too.

Hi! By gold, do you mean gold hardware or an evening bag in gold colour?
I purchased the kisslock bag with chain last January which can be dressed up or down.
The hardware is champagne gold. The chain can be tucked inside the bag or you can wear the bag crossbody. It holds my iPhone plus, cards and lippy.

@ashin121 - Thank you for the detailed response. I am looking at new bags for now. I quickly searched fashionphile and feel like their prices are close to new ones. Can I dress down a gold colored bag and wear it for a date night or a night out with friends?Also to help out more since you're new.. i'm not sure if you're looking only at new or preloved. @snowing may - That is a beautiful bag!! That chain looks pretty long. What is the length on that one? I am petite and noticing that some of the chains may be too long for me. Any ideas on how to shorten the chain?
Yea fashionphile prices are higher than retail usually. They are legit but the cost is too high.
Good choice in getting a new one from the boutique especially for your first.
Yea you can wear any bag any way you want! I think it depends on the shade of gold. There's lighter gold chanel bags that are easier to dress down than bright gold gold bags.
Hi! The chain is not long at all. It’s a perfect length between the length of a square mini and rectangular mini.
I am about 5’4 and don’t need to shorten the chain. Here are 2 photos for your reference:

I recently received this lovely bag... I find the strap a little too thin so decided to dress it up a bit and turned it into a handheld bag, can also sling on the crook of arm. I don’t like to wear my bag crossbody but this bag is able to be worn that way and the length is similar to snowing may’s clutch.
