I’d just leave it as it is in your second photo. As it patinas it’ll fade into the leather. Then wait for the strap to get really beat up and then have LV replace it.

I am reading this thread 2 years after you posted! I have the same issue purchased pochette metis and after 2 months has a slight mark in the smae place as yours! Has your mark disappeared overtime as the leather has darkened? Is the a mark still noticeable now? Just wondering!

I wouldn't try the eraser idea. I would only use a baby wipe that is mostly water, no alcohol or fragrance.
