Platinum Repolishing at a Tiffany Store?

Hi fellow Tiffany lovers! I have a question: Has anyone popped into their local T&CO store and had a platinum ring polished while you wait? I have an email into a store that I will be near soon while on vacation (nothing local for me, unfortunately) to see if it's a service I can wait for rather than sending my ring out and waiting for it to be returned.. Thanks in advance!
They've always sent them to the main service center in my experience.

My store doesn't do the polishing in store. The store can do like a quick cleaning service, but it doesn't improve the appearance very noticeably. The polishing service takes about 2 weeks - they send it to NYC. My store charged me $50 for the service, even though the item was made of platinum ( I heard before that they don't charge for polishing platinum and gold, just silver?).

After you have it polished make sure you coat it with a protectant! Tarnish-me-not works best.. I haven't had to re polish a SINGLE piece of jewelry and it's been a year. Definitely saves a lot of time and money!

I'm guessing the $50 is per piece of jewelry?
I need 6 gold and platinum pieces done - and the idea of paying 300 for a polish is kinda high when I can go to my local jeweler and have it done for much less.

Do you have a SA that you work with regularly? If so, they may be able to waive the fees for you. Another reason I would take it to Tiffany versus a local jeweler is that if something unfortunate happened to your jewelry, they would be better about compensating you.
