Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Love it!!!!

It's beautiful! Congratulations!
I hope it takes the edge off your rotten summer. Not to minimize your loss, but to give you some comfort.

Congrats and enjoy :smile1:

Thank you, everyone. :) Yes, it's taking the edge off, simply because it's nice to wake up and wonder when the goodies will get here. (A nice change from "which shoe will fall today"?) I'd love to figure out the psychology behind it, but, oh yes, retail therapy does indeed help. :)

Awesome review & pics! THANK YOU! I have this bag coming in the black/green/burgundy. I had purchased a black Shadow when they first came out but returned it, maybe too hastily...looking forward to getting it & playing around with it tomorrow. Can I ask if behind the outside back zip pouch there is a small slip pocket? The Shadow did. Thanks again for sharing, not only your recent personal losses but also the fruits of your retailntherapy. We've all been there.

Thanks for posting your thorough review. I also received this bag today and love it.

One more thing to note is that you can also carry as a clutch by putting the chain strap inside the purse and carrying with your hand through the black strap on the front of the purse.

Teagaggle, yes, the slip pocket is indeed there (behind the zipped pocket), and pinkngreenpurse is also right ... that strap on the front can accommodate your fingers slipped through.

Congrats on this beautiful bag. Thanks for the great pics and thorough review. enjoy!

Thanks so much for the photos! Congrats on the bag!

GREAT bag!

Btw, there's still a lot of people who think a flip phone has its advantages. ;)

This bag is really pretty! Thanks for all the great pictures. Congrats!

Thanks for the pics! It was good to see the large accordion wallet for comparison.

As for the flip phone, I really miss my Motorola Razr. I carried it until the screen blacked out. Plus, unlike today's phones, you can actually the feel buttons as you dial. :smile1:

Thank you again, everyone. :) :)

And yes, I'm clinging to my flip phone too. For some reason, smartphones always fight me. I'll be going through google on hubby's android, and pages won't scroll correctly, or it ends up clicking on links I didn't want ... all sorts of clutziness when I'm on it.

One day, literally within one hour, I was given two different instructions. I complained about the scrolling and links opening, and hubby told me quite clearly that I wasn't pressing hard enough --- I need to be "firmer" in my touch. Less than one hour later, I'm still frustrated, and daughter tells me the opposite --- that I'm pressing too hard. Well gee, nice to know I've got both experts around me.

I thought I wanted a solid color but your pics make me want a pieced one. Wow you fit a large wallet in there? Good to know.

Really gorgeous! Congrats!

Thanks again, everyone. :) :)

I hate to admit this, but I'm thinking of getting one of the solid color ones exclusive to Bloomingdales too. From what I've read and seen, it's pretty much the same size and organization as the small version of the new saddle bag. But I just can't get behind a flap that won't say closed via some mechanism. I do baby my bags, but there are inevitably times where the bag falls, or even just falls over. I just can't stand my keys or phone flying out. :-/ So I might just get another Shadow while they're making them.

momtok, how are you liking your pieced b/w shadow bag and what are your thoughts on the chain strap. Did you end up getting the solid color one too from Bloomies? I tried on both the solid black and the pieced b/w and was wondering if it was worth the extra $$ getting the patchwork (which I think looks amazing) or if I should just get the solid black. I don't own any chain strap bags so I'm also hesitant due to this.

I also have this bag and the black/white has more pizazz than the solid colors.....

No, I haven't got the pink one because I *do* want a light pink bag, but I also don't want to overdo it with light pink. I'm just old enough now that I worry if I can get away with it. :-/

Then again, the other pink bag that I'm looking at, that I'm kind of leaning toward instead if I'm only going to go for one, is the Nolita 24 in pink with the word "Lucky" on it.. Yeah, I know .... that's probably even less age appropriate. I seem to be a mess.

I've used my shadow about half of the time since I bought it. (I switch every couple days, and about half of those days have been the shadow.) I do love it ... people say it looks "edgy" ... to me, I'd say "sharp". (Especially in the chevron pieced pattern.)

As for the latch, you have to teach your fingers the trick. The thing is, the front compartment of the bag, is *also* "separated" a bit at the bottom of the bag. What I mean is, the far front compartment of the bag has an indentation at the bottom of it, between itself and the "main" compartment. (Easy to understand if you look at the bag.) And that matters a lot, because the way to get the latch open quickly and easily, is to learn to push/angle that "bottom-of-the-front-compartment" forward as you're pulling the flap down to unlatch the closure. Basically, you use your middle finger to tilt that bottom-of-the-front-compartment up and forward, and then with finger and pointer finger, slide the closure part on the flap "down and off". It's hard to explain, but easy to do once you realize it.

(It's late. Hope I'm still making sense. ;) )

editing to add:
the only complaint I have about the bag, is one that hasn't been mentioned. If you grab ahold of one side of the chain, for some reason like grabbing the bag fast, then sometimes the chain slides a little so that the leather part (that's built to go on your shoulder) becomes "un-centered". Again, hope that makes sense. Then you have to stop and re - center it. But ... eh ... I'm willing to suffer with that, because I like the pattern so much. :) (And nice, thick leather --- that's the other plus.)

Absolutely gorgeous. I didn't see this when you first posted as I was out of town at the time, but boy, what a stunner! Thanks for the detailed pics!!

Hey P!

Online and saw your post. Thought I'd quickly say hi. Sorry to hear about your aunt and parrots :hugs:

That's one cute bag you got there. It's pretty spacious too for a little thing.

Hey there! Thank you, and fortunately things are starting to settle a little. Now it's just a matter of frustration at the red-tape of processing an estate. (I had no idea dying in America involved this much red-tape. )

I see your thread with the style number.... I think it's a Kelsey you're looking at? That's a really cute style too, and easy to carry.
