Great Choice. It's really beautiful. I see the clarity is I1 but I could not see any flaws in the diamond from the pictures.

Thanks!! I originally had in mind to get one with a higher grade in clarity, but this allowed me to get a larger diamond! I looked so carefully to try & see any flaws, but I can't see anything.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I can't stop staring at it!! :)

congrats! i was also curious about the i1 ... My diamond is SI1 but the 'flaw' is not visible to the eye ... is it a GIA rated diamond? Do they mention whether its a 'feather' or a 'cloud' or anything like that?

Yes, it is GIA rated. No mention of what the flaw is, but I can't see anything, try as I might. The jeweller even lent me her magnifier to look at it and I still didn't see anything. She (the jeweller) did mention that the diamond cutter will often try to cut flawed diamonds in such a way to minimize the flaw and that the person who sets it will try to put it behind one of the prongs if they can, so I'm guessing that may be the case with mine. :shrugs:

Regardless, I love it and couldn't be happier with it. I like that I was able to get a slightly larger diamond without sacrificing quality (at least in my eyes).

oh thats so cool - so the inclusion wouldnt be visible if its set in a particular way? I love the idea that the so called 'flaw' is actually your diamond's birthmark! It makes it individual.

I recently bought some princess cut studs and they are I1 but unfortunately i can def see the inclusion ...

My stone is a similar size to yours but princess ... isnt it such a great size!

Usually if it comes with a GIA report, it will have a little map of the diamond so you can look for the distinctions that make your diamond yours. If you bought the diamond already set as opposed to loose, they probably covered a blemish or 2 with the prongs.
