This is such a broad question, @tosh. Think of it like asking where to buy a diamond. You'll need to be more specific about what you have in mind. For example, Mikimoto offers a range of pearls in both size and quality with the following grading system:

How Are Mikimoto Pearls Graded?– CD Peacock

The four grading systems are AAA, AA, A+, and A. AAA pearls are exceptional and lustrous; you can see yourself in them. AAA pearls have close to no blemishes. Grade A is the lowest grade but still high quality, and the pearls have slight blemishes and good luster.

You certainly don't have to look for Mikimoto pearls. I only use this as a way to explain how complex your question is. It would be good for you to think about your budget, the length of the pearl strand you would like, the color, the size and the level of perfection that would make you happy.

Is Pearl Paradise reputable?
Maybe have a look at this long-running pearl thread below. Pearl Paradise is frequently discussed there.

Thank you for the reply.
Is Pearl Paradise reputable?
I second the recommendation to check out the thread, but IMO, PP is reputable. I've bought many pieces from them over the years. Some are basics and some are one-of-a-kind. I've found them responsive and easy to work with, and the quality has always exceeded my expectations. Many people swear by mikimoto, especially for round, white, akoyas. But PP is a safe and reliable option.

Pearl Paradise is great! I have many necklaces and earrings from them. All great classics. You may also want to check out Sakura Pearls and Gems on Etsy! Also a fantastic seller. Then there’s also Cees Van Oije whom you may contact on Instagram
