The akoya really do have the best luster. Unfortunately, right now I cannot give advice on the size of the pearl as I cannot remember what size mine are. But if I can locate the information I will let you know.. If this is a piece that you feel that you are going to wear A LOT then I would get the best that you can afford. They are well worth the money, jut be warned- once you start wearing the good pearls you will NEVER be able to wear fakes again.
