Pave love opens by itself after repair :(

I concur with all who agree you should ask them to address this. It's a beautiful piece and it would be a shame to lose it that way! I've had 0 problems with my safety or push button in the 5 years I've had mine for. The thing I've noticed is that the bracelet doesn't have the resistance at the hinge anymore that makes it open slowly. I think maybe a spring popped when I dropped it or something. SA insists there is no need to rectify.
Thank you and yes definitely for a pricy piece like this it should be flawless. And hope you wear your pave w good health and it stays secure!

I am in the process of purchasing mine. I just tried on the one ordered by my SA on Friday. I noticed that the spring screw button is so hard to press against. I had to apply a lot of pressure to get the bracelet pop open. I am just curious was your screw button/spring mechanism easy to pop open when you first purchased the bracelet a year ago? Did the spring loosen over time?

Congrats on getting the pave! Honestly I didn’t pay much attention to the button before, I thought it was the clasp which caused the bracelet to open by itself - this time I only noticed the button was so easy to open after my son was sitting on my arm and it caused the bracelet to open again.

Thanks! I was just thinking if the spring mechanism on the screw button of your bracelet was already loose when you bought it, the bracelet may have been defective, in which case you would definitely have a good reason to ask for a replacement. Keep us posted ….

Hi friends! Have a question for fellow Pave Love owners: Is it normal for the bracelet to open by itself when pressure is applied to the screw button?

Here's my situation: my Pave Love bracelet has opened on its own before, and I've already sent it in for repair twice. After each repair, it felt secure for a while, but recently I’ve noticed it’s starting to open by itself again. Specifically, if I press on the screw button, the bracelet sometimes opens partially or even fully unlatches the clasp. This happens more especially when I was holding my son and some pressure was put on my right forearm/wrist.

I assumed that simply pressing the button wouldn’t unlock it—that the clasp needs to be opened first, and then the button is pressed to fully release it. Since I've only experienced this with one Pave bracelet, I'm not sure if this behavior is normal or if there's an issue with mine.

Can't attach a video here so here are some screenshots to illustrate the problem. Would greatly appreciate any insights or advice here!

Hi @itrar, normally I wouldn’t ask, but now I’m curious… Was Cartier able to replace this bracelet for you? I think we all agreed here in tpf that this bracelet should be replaced with a new one.

Did you remove this daily? Oddly, my SA said I should never remove this bangle..it’s like a regular love bracelet even though it has a button and hinge. I’m wondering if you have any updates.

hi @chareen! I did contact my SA and she agreed that this definitely needs to be replaced. Although this required her manager and Cartier’s headquarter’s approvals, and everything is still in progress.

And no I don’t remove it daily. I think I have removed it maybe three or four times in total ever since I got it. My SA said it’s her first time seeing a case like this as well, as normally her client would say the pave lock was so tight that it would be pretty hard to unlock or open it. Maybe I just happen to get a defect one 🙁

Usually the display items have loose hinges.

The ones kept in the ‘safe’ in their back room are newer ones. I always try to see if I could get their newer piece with the wrapper still intact.

My husband was trying to be sweet by surprising me with the small pave bracelet while on a business trip to Japan. He said the hinge was so loose, and it was the only one in the store (I forgot which city since there are a couple of boutiques), so he ended up not buying it.

I’m glad that they are working on getting you a replacement! It is an expensive piece. I read of someone losing it once here in the tpf years back. My SA thought I made it up. lol

I have the same full pave bracelet and have never had an issue. I’ve been wearing it 24-7 for the last several years. It is SO secure. I’ve been in caves, black water rafting, swimming in big waves and it never budges. It’s actually such a pain to take it off when I have to during airport security (although they usually let me go). Hopefully you got it fixed!

Thank you and it’s reassuring to hear that the full pace should be safe and secure! And yes, hopefully it’s going to be fixed soon as right now I’m getting paranoid and kept checking it every now and then to make sure I won’t lose it 😂

I would be scared to wear it outside the house tbh!
