Hi friends! Have a question for fellow Pave Love owners: Is it normal for the bracelet to open by itself when pressure is applied to the screw button?

Here's my situation: my Pave Love bracelet has opened on its own before, and I've already sent it in for repair twice. After each repair, it felt secure for a while, but recently I’ve noticed it’s starting to open by itself again. Specifically, if I press on the screw button, the bracelet sometimes opens partially or even fully unlatches the clasp. This happens more especially when I was holding my son and some pressure was put on my right forearm/wrist.

I assumed that simply pressing the button wouldn’t unlock it—that the clasp needs to be opened first, and then the button is pressed to fully release it. Since I've only experienced this with one Pave bracelet, I'm not sure if this behavior is normal or if there's an issue with mine.

Can't attach a video here so here are some screenshots to illustrate the problem. Would greatly appreciate any insights or advice here!

No, this is not normal. I have the exact same problem with many of my other bracelets, where the pressure of holding a child will cause them to open. My pave Love is the only one that never opens on its own from “child’s body on the arm” pressure. I just tested it again with my finger, and it does not open when I just press the screw. I have found that Cartier’s after care service is excellent. They even replaced a bracelet for me once due to a loose hinge. I would explain the problem to them again and ask that they replace it if they cannot fix it.

Thank you so much for the info! Its reassuring to know that this isnt normal. Ive contacted my SA again to see what she says. Shes incredibly helpful, though I do feel a bit guilty for reaching out repeatedly about the same issue. Still, I really want to get it fixed since its an expensive piece. I purchased the bracelet about a year ago, so I hope asking for a replacement wont be too much to request.

I think it is worth pursuing. This is by far my favorite and most worn bracelet, and I wasn’t even sure about it at the time I bought it. The reason I love it so much is because it is so easy to wear, so I hope yours becomes easy to wear also!

Absolutely send it in. They can't repair it/make it right if they don't know it's in need of repair.
Thank you. I’ve sent it for repair twice already for the same problem but still it reopens after a few days’ wear. 🙁 At this point I was thinking about a replacement, just hoping it won’t be too much to request.

It's not. No one should have a defective piece!

If i spent that amount of money! I sure as would speak up and request for a replacement! The amount of money you spent on that piece warrants questioning especially from Cartier! They can afford to be loyal to any customer or clientale who spends any amount on their jewelry! They have a reputation to upkeep! Hope they will exchange it out!

They will not offer to replace it for you. My pave got fixed twice and problem is still there. Better but not fully resolved. I requested a replacement and they finally got me a new one. Not the same issue but similar. Don’t be afraid to ask for replacement!

thank you and that really gives me confidence to ask for an exchange!! Also every time they tried to fix it they had to do some light polishing, so it already lost its sharp edges 🙁 at this point I really don’t want to think about a third fix..

Sorry to hear that you had experienced problems with pave before and glad you got a new one finally! Thought it’s the most secure bracelet but turns out it still can be problematic 🙁

I concur with all who agree you should ask them to address this. It's a beautiful piece and it would be a shame to lose it that way! I've had 0 problems with my safety or push button in the 5 years I've had mine for. The thing I've noticed is that the bracelet doesn't have the resistance at the hinge anymore that makes it open slowly. I think maybe a spring popped when I dropped it or something. SA insists there is no need to rectify.
