Hi,

Been recently looking to get a two-tone (rose gold / steel) mid-size rolex and diamond markers.

I already have two rolexes, both are steel watches, so I'm thinking about getting a two-tone rolex.

However, given I already have two Rolexes, I'm thinking if I should get a higher-class watch.

I kinda like the style of Patek Twenty4, but I can only afford a steel one (w/in the same price range as a two-tone rolex w/ diamonds).

I'm torn, PP24 is a quartz and I've always prefer mechanical watches. However, do I really need a 3rd Rolex?

If I get PP24... I'd be buying the cheapest watch from the entire brand. Is it a bit... hmm... lame?

I want sthg classy and elegant but also widely recognized.

Which one do you think is a better choice for me?

Hmmm, from what you say, I'd go with the Patek. I know its a quartz movement, but its the finest quartz movement you can get and its made completely by Patek themselves. I remember training on them years ago when I was in the trade, and was told they have more moving parts than other quartz movements.
I too was always a bit meh about quartz movements, and paticularly with Patek, I felt it was a bit of a step back until I was taught about them and found just how good they really are.
I own two Rolex, and would definately go for another brand if I was after a third watch, maybe Breguet, Jaeger le Coulre or indeed a Patek.

I think the 24 is a lovely choice, and the steel is super elegant to me!

Thanks Chaz...

Actually, after my two Rolexes I bought years ago, I've bought a Jaeger (Reverso), Cartier (Santos 100) and Chopard. Now I think it's time to move onto an even better brand?!

Gosh, so many choices out there... I looked at VC and AP today but I still like the Patek more than VC or AP...

^^^^ Vacheron and Audemars are both fantastic brands!!

I would be moved toward the Patek still I think. One I would love to go for is the ladies Breguet, its still got a sport look, but beautifully balanced with a feminine feel. Possibly an alternative to the Patek? Although the 24 is a beautiful watch with a very different look....have great fun choosing!
