Panthere mini or small?

When I was shopping for this watch a couple of weeks ago I initially went in for the mini after s1000025033.webpcouring the internet. My SA put on what I thought was the mini, and the size was great. But then I realized I had on the small. I tried on the mini and it was soooo small. I wore my watch for the first time yestersay after wondering if I should've gotten the mini instead. I'm definitely glad I got the small. It's still pretty small and dainty but you can still easily see the time.

I’m back! I decided I’m not as skinny and petite as Mr chalamet so I think it’ll be a mini after trying it on again.

I tried on the diamond version though and now have a different dilemma. My SA told me the diamond version is rhodium plated which makes it a littler whiter than the steel version. Now that he’s mentioned it, I can’t unsee it.

I like the rhodium version but I frankly didn’t notice until he pointed it out. And the price point for the watch is nearly double. Can you see a noticeable difference? Is it worth it? And I think the vibe of the watch is little different with diamonds.

I can definitely see the color difference. I've never noticed that before. In my opinion, anything with diamonds is always prettier. But honestly in the picture you can't tell which one has diamonds unless you zoom in. With that being said, if the price difference wasn't that much I would've gotten the one with the diamonds.

I can definitely see the color difference. However something to consider is that rhodium plating wears off, so I would double check with your SA if Cartier will be committing to replating when time comes. My SA told me that they would, but I was asking about the white gold watch, not sure if the answer will be the same for stainless steel.
As for the diamonds, I like both, with and without, each has its own vibe IMO. One thing if favour of the diamonds that's not purely aesthetic - I saw people sharing that diamonds protect the watch face from scratches.

I can see the difference, but IMHO you really only notice it when you’re comparing it side-by-side to the rhodium-plated version. Just wearing the stainless steel version on its own, or even stacked, I don’t think it would look dull or too gray.

It’s hard to say whether adding the diamonds are worth the extra $$$ — only you can determine that. In general, at face value, I don’t think the added cost of the diamonds is worth it, and I know some opt to get the regular version and then use the money saved to buy a diamond tennis bracelet to stack with their watch. You will get more bang for your buck if you go that route, but you do have to be mindful about bracelets potentially scratching your watches — some people don’t mind this and like to stack with their watches, others don’t.

Adding diamonds always changes the vibe, and I personally prefer the non-diamond version, but diamonds are nice too and still subtle enough to make this suitable for everyday wear IMHO. If you can comfortably afford the added cost and truly love that version more, it’s worth it to get it now before the rumored PI. Good luck deciding!

thanks for your responses.

I think my main concern with the regular steel version is it looking too gray especially in indoor lighting. If there was an option for rhodium plate with no diamonds, I would have bought that.

Do you think the diamond version gives off a specific look? I know many mention it being more dressy or busy. Is that your take as well?

Diamonds definitely make it more dressy, but that being said, I personally don’t think they make it too dressy or change it from being an everyday watch to a special-occasion-only watch. I think the diamonds are subtle enough that you could still wear this comfortably and confidently in most situations, and it would add some nice sparkle to your daily outfits! I’m all about getting our money’s worth out of our luxury items and wearing diamonds with jeans and sweatshirts, etc. so I wouldn’t hesitate to wear the diamond version.

Now the all-gold and diamond version is another story — I think that piece is so beautiful but has a much dressier vibe and would be a bit too flashy for me, personally, for everyday wear. But the steel and diamond version is elevated but subtle IMHO.

I adore the mini myself ( I have one in RG with diamond and I find it’s fully functional and I can read the time fine) as I have a chicken wrist, but from the pic, the Small looks better on you.

When getting my Panthere watch, I considered diamonds around the bezel in the white gold but I am generally not a fan of rhodium plated white gold. My husband, while he liked the diamonds, he finds the maintenance of plating to be a pain and he knows how not careful I am of my pieces and I'd just bang everything off in no time! (lol, jk, I'm sure it's not that bad).
I also like to stack, which increases wear and tear quite visibly and significantly. My TT panthere, SS and gold, because it's SS for the bezel, it has created a permanent wear mark on my love bracelet.

I think the mini and small both look good on your wrists, so my only question is: are you planning on actually reading the time off of your watch? If so, can you comfortably read the mini? Otherwise get the small.

Just curious as to where you’re seeing the mark on the love?
