Well, you have the toughest job on earth as far as I'm concerned and I think you deserve those beautiful diamonds. I'd wear them every day, if I were you!!!!!

I think they sound lovely!! And as a mom of 2 little girls under 3 all I can say YOU DEFINITELY DESERVE THEM!!! Just as much as any "working" mom. It's SUCH hard work!! My DH and I were just talking today about how we finally understand how people let themselves go and sacrifice everything personal when kids come along, how it kind of just happens... you shouldn't feel guilty for a second for treating yourself!!

And I don't think they're too big at all - I think they might just take some getting used to. :) CONGRATS AND ENJOY IN GOOD HEALTH MAMA!!!

When my husband gave me my diamond stud earrings it was in Sept. 2008 and within days after he said he was giving them to me (I had not asked for them) the stock market tanked! And he is always very careful about money. I expected he would say it wasn't a good idea anymore for me to have them. But he said, that he wanted me to have them. He said that he didn't know what was going to happen next year (in terms of his job) and that he wanted me to have them. After 26 years of marriage, 3 kids, and all the sacrifices we made together, he wanted to do something to show how much he loved me and valued me.
I am sure your husband feels the same.
I was anxious about mine--you just get so used to doing without when you have kids, especially when you are a SAHM and feel you have to watch the pennies because there is only one income and the kids need this and that. I felt like it was SO much money to have on my ears. But after a while I got used to the idea that my husband gave to me, and he wanted to give them to me and I don't have to 'deserve' it, just appreciate the gift (and him). I hope you will get to that point and just enjoy being loved the way you are loved by him.
I'm sure they are beautiful on you and that he gets a lot of joy thinking that he made you happy.

All moms deserve to have special jewelry! I think the 1.25ct is a lovely size. If anyone gets all weird, just know you're worth it!

When I feel guilty over my designer handbags (e.g., why would a SAHM need xx amount of designer bags and no where to go except stay at home) -- I have to remind myself I'm worth it
