I searched and didn't see a thread talking about great topical products for the over 40 contingent!

I feel like I've tried everything but I am currently happy with Barbara Sturm, MBR, and Biologique Recherche.

My true Holy Grail product: Biologique Rechereche Lotion P50 1970....literally everyone should use this, I haven't had a breakout pimple since I started using the P50 1970. google it for yourself, the cult following to this stuff is real!pk_lotion_p50_1970_250ml.jpg

what's your HG?

Facial cleansing: Sisley , Argentum Apothecary. Omorovicza, de Mamiel ( alternate as seasons change)
Moisturizers: Irene Forte, 111 Skin Black Diamond & Y theorem serums & creams, 001 skin face oil,
exfoliant scrub & intensive elixir
Dior Prestige eye cream, Valmont face moisturizing mask is amazing..
The one product that I have seen a big change is using Sunday Riley Good Genes & of course
sunscreen.. just finishing True Botanicals sunblock . meh.. so going back to La Roche Posay
but always on the hunt for new spf

I order from ShopRescueSpa and they always include Valmont samples, I loved the scent of their products and packaging so I wanted to love the products; but my skin reacted to the samples I tried.

I have never heard of Sunday Riley, going to check that out!

For SPF I use Elta MD tinted SPF, no obnoxious scent and the tinted SPF is like using a BB cream.

Initially my skin responded with a reaction as well. The facialist said to give it a second try which
I was cautious about, & it worked. So perhaps, test it on a small area on the inside of your arm
& see if you react.. I'm told it is the scent of the rose which takes the skin time to adjust.
Sunday Riley is a very tried & true kind of line including her Luna Oil.. The Good Genes product
for me was a game changer & my skin showed much improvement in a short period of time
I just ordered TATCHA silk sunscreen which one of my dermatologist highly recommends as
a luxury SPF although her hg is La Roche Posay Anthelios. .. LOL

thanks for the tips - I will do that with Valmont.

TATCHA silk? I am intrigued, not gonna lie I am a sucker for luxury skincare, although I realize not all of it works, lol

Tatcha has a high profile among many influencers from what I heard. I don't follow beauty influencers
I do my own Q & A from who I think are knowledgeable in the world of skin care products.
But Tatcha products have nice reviews & the Silk Sunscreen ( texture, SPF 50 was of interest so I
am giving it a shot.. the other product which I have yet to try which I think is BB/CC cream also
with good reviews is Erborian..

I don't follow influencers either, but I do listen to non-paid users and friends.

Follow up on how you like Tatcha after using for a while!

TBH if I have makeup on I don't also use SPF. I am addicted to Chanel's CC cream B20 in winter, B30 in Summer and that has a SPF in it. I know there is no value in doubling up sunscreens. Admittedly, I ignore the neck and chest area (shame shame) but realize I should do better at protecting it from rays!

Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, La Prairie skincare over a retinol creme or gel depending on my mood for a texture. I alternate creams every night, double cleanse, and use Chanel toner which I rinse off as well. Plenty of water splashes, which I learned from my "membership" at the Erno Laslo counter from my youth. Most important to me is the decollete creams and delicate neck creams. I only use the thick La Mer creme when I have been in the sun. I apply a super thick layer like a pancake and have it melt into my skin. I cannot sleep with an eyecream because my eyes are light and very sensitive.

I do the skin cycling thingy: AHAs, retinol, then 2 nights of recovery - in my case, a peptide serum followed by some nice moisturizing cream or ANR if I run out of peptide serums in my stash. I use a lot of Polish skincare brands - I'm Polish, live in Poland and do a bit of blogging in my spare time.

But, as regards to SPF, I have 2 on rotation this season: The Inkey List and Ultra Violette Queen Screen. Very nice, very lightweight (both of them). Not sure how they work with makeup as I can't remember last time I wore any.

Hi,

A follow up on the Tatcha Silk Sunscreen.. I like it very much with the exception that the
neck of the bottle peels away. I did contact Tatcha & commented. They were aware of the
issue & their production team is on it. They did replace the product for me.
The color was perfect for my skin tone ( I am very fair) it does have an SPF of 50 which I
also like & it gives the skin a nice healthy glow & a nice feeling of hydration as I am on the
dry side. It is expensive but at the end of the day we all have to make ourselves feel good
& beauty has no price, so the saying goes.. LOL
I am also going to try Beauty of Joseon sunscreen when I am finished with the Tatcha
so I will have a nice comparison of La Roche Posay, Tatcha & Beauty of Joseon
La Roche Posay still continues to be my go to sunscreen but I wanted to trying something new
& the reviews were positive on both these sun products

Years ago, I used biologique Recherche (P50 plus the entire line) and had some facials with Aida bicag who used this product. It was great, but DH couldn’t stand the smell. Then i used a variety of other products, of varying price points. Periodically, I become lazy and relapse into doing nothing. Recently, I’ve taken my dermatologists and Drs advice and use thermaderm fruit acid occasionally; skinceuticals triple lipid restore 242; beauty of Joseon sunscreen; and a occusoft mositurizing eyelid wipe that I continue over my whole face to cleanse. My cosmetic derm office provides Alastin hydro tint pro mineral sunscreen and moisturizer, so I bought some but haven’t really worn it. Also someone I have some unopened Iris and Romeo tinted sunscreen. I’m 55 and have ombré eyebrows and lip tint, so don’t wear much else.
