This is what I heard from my SA when they changed the way they ship. I find it very annoying actually, since I still get bags with defects and sometimes, the defects are caused by the poor packaging. :weird:
When I received my bags in all the original packaging, I never experienced any defects at all, they were perfect. One time recently, JAX had the audacity to send me a patent leather bag that looked like it was soaked in a dust bath. There were sticky parts on it as well, prob a return. Needless to say, this bag was wrapped in their "special" signature wrap. Urgh
I guess I'm in the minority here, but I hate receiving bags still have the plastic stuff on the hardware. I've ordered a couple Phoebes from department stores that came wrapped, and I spent forever trying to pick off all the plastic stuff from the hardware. It doesn't all come off easily, then it sticks to other stuff, and it makes a mess. I'd rather have all the plastic taken off and the bag put in a dust bag.
I agree! One time I wanted all the wrapping on the bag and when taking everything off, it was a pain. I also didnt like how much paper I had to dispose. Now I prefer no wrapping because I can use the bag immediately if I wanted with no fuss. I can also look for flaws before leaving the store.
I'm thinking that you guys have been spoiled. JK. I've never received a FP purchase that was not wrapped well and inside the dustbag. I've only purchased one bag online (my first Preston) and it was perfectly wrapped but the box looked like it had been to hell and back. When I order through my boutique (they never have the bag I want in store), they always order it gift wrapped for me and so it's always well packaged. If by chance, my store has the bag on hand that I want, they bring it from the back wrapped in it's tissue but they always take it off. They usually check the bahg out thoroughly, place it in the dust bag, gift wrap it if I want, and then I'm out the door.
Totally agree. I don't think it would have mattered to me if I received one without it.
I'm in the camp that hates disposing of plastic and wrapping and all that, but when it arrives without that stuff I have to assume that it was a return or a floor model or something. If I bought it on sale, I don't care, but if I pay full price for something, I'd expect it to be flawless.
