From those photos I see no cause for you to be concerned, I think you should enjoy this gift from your fiance. It looks very nice.

The ring of darkness is the less technical term for "leakage" where the light is just passing right through the stone, vs reflecting back to your eyes, in your stone specifically it would be just around the outer edge of the table/crown and just around the dead center in the stone leaving rings of brighter whiteness around the inner edge of your table facet, then again dead center in the table around your culet facet in the pavilion. Kinda like a target from the top.

Does this hilariously horrific scribble make sense?

I have had a pair of so-called excellent cut diamond earrings next to a pair that wasn't and both pairs sparkled the same to me and my husband. The only difference was in the price of the branded cut earrings. Personally, I think people overstate the importance of a cut grading in many, many cases. Believe me if the ring wasn't well cut you would know it! And frankly I have some old european cut diamond earrings that are gorgeous! What are they graded? I have no idea.

Trust your eyes, enjoy your ring. Not everyone has a Tiffany ring or a fiance who would buy them something like that.
