I tried on this watch in the boutique which I’ve loved since I saw it online. https://www.vancleefarpels.com/en/c...atches/vcaro8wt00---sweet-alhambra-watch.html

Does anyone own this watch or any Alhambra watch? How do you find it?

Or has anyone come close to pulling the trigger but decided not to? What were your reasons?

Before seeing this watch IRL, I thought it would be hard to read the time. But I found it very easy to read when I tried it on. However, I have to be realistic too as I’m in my mid-40s and sooner or later, I may struggle to tell the time with this watch, I think…

Thanks in advance and interested to hear your views.

I don’t own it, but I think watches are more jewellery and less about telling the time than used to be the case. If you really need to know the time you can check it everywhere from your phone to your oven!

I think you really hit the nail on the head for me - yes, this watch is a piece of jewellery that happens to tell the time. That’s why I love it :D

This watch is on my list as well. I actually just went into the boutique to try it on 2 days ago. I was debating between this one (the guilloche) and the rg with MOP. I decided that I’d go with rg MOP. I still haven’t pulled the trigger as I wanted to hear more from other ppl as well. I went on YouTube and there wasn’t a lot of reviewed videos on this watch

Sounds like my experience over the weekend when I tried on both the Guilloche and the RG with MOP but decided that the Guilloche looks better on me! So we both tried on the same models over the weekend :D

I think it looks beautiful on you. I just got mine a couple of months ago and I love it! I was hesitant to get a quartz as well as all of my other watches are automatic. The battery needs replacing every 3 or so years (there is a sticker at the back that tells you when to replace) and with lifetime complementary, so all good for me. My eyesight is also pretty poor and it took time to adjust to telling time
Let us know which one you ended up getting!

Hello SmokieDragon, I have 2 alhambra watches. I like them because they are jewelry timepieces that can be worn when I dress up or down. They give off a different aura from my other automatic watches. I find them youthful, fun and elegant-looking. Here is a photo of my turquoise alhambra watch. I don’t have issue in looking at the time on the alhambra watches. I normally can tell the time by the appropriate positions of the hands on the dial face, whether the watches have markers or not.

Hope you will get yours soon. :flowers:

Wow! Your watch is gorgeous! Very unusual to find a turquoise dial (I don't think I've ever seen one, come to think of it) and beautifully accentuated with diamonds as well! You mentioned that you have 2 Alhambra watches. What is the other one and do you have mod shot of it? Thanks in advance! :D

I feel like resistance is futile at this point haha. You have made a good point about a jewellery timepiece - a gold watch is something that's missing from my collection.

The turquoise dial was released last year (2021). It is still available on VCA website in the United States. I will send you a private message on mod shot of the second watch.

I think a jewelry gold watch is something good to have in a collection. Let us know what you decide.
