There's a video about Elsa Peretti life and deisgna on the Tiffany website or Tiffany YouTube channel (can't remember which one). She created the mesh halter I think sorta of as part of a feminist movement and it sparked quite a bit of controversy. To me it seems like something only a celebrity would wear as it seems useless for everyday life. Haha and I don't think it provides much support!

I definitely could see a celebrity wearing it to the MTV Music Awards or another edgy event. I agree with the support comment. Plus I think it would feel really cold. :p

I could see that halter being worn at Studio 54 back in the day or to a trendy club under a black blazer in NYC's current club scene.

My mesh is a lot more conservative -- the classic Peretti scarf necklace and a Somerset bracelet in a spectacular (and discontinued) copper color.

I definitely agree with you. When I saw it on the website the first thing I thought of was Rihanna wearing it with a black blazer at a NYC event. However I don't know how many Tiffany is planning to sell. It is on their website, so I don't know if they just have 5 or 500. To me the average Tiffany client who spends $5000 on a piece would not buy this. It is a very select group of individuals who would covet and wear the piece.

I would love to see your mesh collection! As I stated earlier, I enjoy the mesh collection but am not a fan of this particular piece for the regular Tiffany customer.

Oh my! I love the mesh line on other people, the earrings and the necklaces are lovely, but that halter.... the only time in my life that I wouldn't scar small children by going in public in such a thing was about 25 years ago, haha. I wonder how hot the metal would get on the beach on Maui..hmm...
