Common for that size stone. Have you inspected it in more than just the store's lighting? Like by a window? Double check for any loose stones as well. What happens if the stones get loose? Who repairs it?

Excellent points... I plan to go back to the store with my fiance this week, so I will ask about loose/lost stones, and I'll check the ring out in more natural light.

What exactly should I be looking for when I see it in natural light? Color matching? Any obvious inclusions/chips?

Exactly that. Color matching, inclusions, chips, check to see that the stones are set fairly "level", tables are reasonably similar in size, etc. Make sure nothing is loose.

thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions!! my fiance pulled the trigger on it yesterday!! were storing it at my moms so im not tempted to wear it before our wedding, but ill post some pix after the big day!
