What are your thoughts on Orange Birkin? Iconic? Too bright? Etc.

Also, do you think an orange B30 is relatively available from boutiques given the color, or is an extensive history required?

Thanks in advance

I think I need more information to really help you. Is this your first bag? Which leather? Are you wearing mostly black, navy or other darker neutrals? I love an orange B, especially orange poppy but only if worn with black or navy as it will then be a pop of color to the outfit and only in a very relaxed leather that takes colors well. If this is your first bag you might want to consider that it might be more difficult to match your bag with your outfit than with a more neutral colored B so you might not get that much use out of it. I've recently seen an orange B in Epsom (located in Europe), not sure which size though. I don't like orange in Epsom, looked to stiff and I'm normally pro Epsom. I have to agree with QuelleFromage's comment - it is iconic but screams here I am :)

I love orange as you can see in the avatar. The year is 2008. I walk in the boutique and I am standing at the scarf counter. I begin to look around from where I stood and there is this orange Kelly sitting on the shelf for sale. Orange goes well with so many colors, so take a look at the garments you wear most. Does orange fit in easily or not?

Orange Hermès or another orange? I haven't seen Orange H around for a while (but then I haven't been looking for it).
Personally I would choose a different color, even a different orange - Orange H IS iconic but (just to me, YMMV) in a Birkin it screams brand too much.
Thanks, good point. Maybe it’s not in production now? Idk.

I’m thinking about “Orange H”, the iconic color for Hermes.

Thanks. It won’t be my first bag. I have an extensive wardrobe with all colours except green (I just don’t look good in green). This is why I’m thinking about a different fun color. I’m feeling kinda depressed from Covid.

Your “here I am” makes me laugh in a good way Something to think about for sure.

Nice. I have all colours except green in my wardrobe. From your experience, which colours match the best with your orange Kelly?

My first bag was an orange birkin 30. Back then, I was more of a chanel fan so I just wanted a fun bag, not an everyday bag. A birkin 30 is pretty heavy so I think having a fun color isn't a bad choice. When I want to use a bag every day, I usually use one of my Kellys.

Fun colors to wear with it include light blues, whites, orange, light green.

I just purchased an orange B30. It is a fun pop of color after a crazy year. Would not recommend for a first bag, but it is nice to have in rotation for a change of pace from neutrals. I asked for any orange and ended up with a brighter version than the classic, it did take a couple years for it to come in. It is not a popular color from what I can tell, which is one of the reasons why I wanted it.

My only Birkin is a B30 is an orange color called Feu. I have an extensive handbag collection, so I was thrilled to get my dream bag in a fun color. This is not an everyday bag for me so it works. If I carried it everyday, I would want a more neutral color. In terms of availability, I think it depends on the boutique, and your relationship with your SA.

I bought an orange H purse before (not a B). While it was bright, loud, beautiful, and iconic, I realized that I can't rock it and it's simply not for me as I prefer neutral and more conservative colors. If you are considering buying an orange B, you might would want to try carrying a regular orange purse first and see how you truly feel about it.
That’s a good point, thanks

Used to own orange b25 and b30. Those were my first H bags, as i wanted everyone to know I was carrying H (ha!). But as I aged, I tend to go more subtle and opt for earthy tones. The only pop of color I seek now is on mini bags.

As with H Bags, I feel just go for color that you fancy at that point. There’s always reasons to sell and buy another, when your heart changes. That’s what H is capable of offering you.

I was offered B30 Orange Poppy/B30 Blue Nuit for my second quota bag and I ended up buying Blue Nuit. My husband thought the orange poppy would of been so nice as it’s bright and everyone would notice it just like a car. When I saw it in person, it was really bright and didn’t make my heart sing, so I took the blue Nuit. This was 5 years ago and I have no regrets. I have pops of color with my smaller bags but neutrals are safe in my opinion for a bag that is bigger. If you love it then rock it!
