If this bag cannot be exchanged or is a hassle to do so-maybe it will 'grow on you". I love this LV-it looks well made, practical and stylish!!!!! If you end up keeping it-I hope you end up loving it. Let us know what you decide!!!!

It's a nice bag. But not keen on the strap. If it was mine I would get a plain black strap. And use the strap it came with for another bag. The coin purse I would use for Ipod or change. It wouldn't be a bag I would have chosen but it's not too bad as can find uses for it and it's parts.
It was a very generous gift ,however if you don't love it then I would definitively exchange it. Perhaps ask the person who gave it to you to come with you and help pick out something else. It's all in the delivery and the way you present it to the person! Thanking them and including them on the shopping trip!

I’m actually the pickiest person lol, I literally scrolled through the entire LV website and apart from the star trail boots (which I haven’t even tried on yet) I don’t really *love* anything so there’s not much point in me getting store credit.

I think it looks great - especially for a free bag lol. The strap can be changed to make it dressy or casual. It's not too 'out there' to be like marmite. Glad you have sorted out the dilemma

It wa a good point you raised by never thinking in age stereotypes - a lesson for us all.
The logo doesn't look as overwhelming as I thought it would and the chevron disappears (although I like it personally). As you said you can always change the strap and get different looks/vibes.
