Opinion: Baroque style pearls

Due to baroque shape, it will look less faux than a round strand. Those that don't know pearls won't know the difference anyway. They probably think they are color beads. There are also faux baroque pearls on the market. To my own eyes, I can spot them a mile away due to the glaze on the pearls. The longer strand has more color variation than the shorter one. I also like those color combo better than the shorter one. It's hard to tell due to lighting on your pics regarding luster. I will advise to go for color and luster rather than pearl sizes. Also take into account your body/neck size. It's all about proportion, at least to me. If you are a petite person, it'll look like the necklace is wearing you instead of you wearing the necklace.

Majority of the times, the larger the pearls the more blemished and less luster they have. Large, premium quality (perfect surface, colorful and beautiful luster) fetch large amount of money because they are more rare. Large oysters and larger nucleated beads produce larger pearls after 2nd or 3rd grafts. But at the same time the oysters are older and those other characteristics diminish when oysters are older.

I can't tell from the longer strand if the pink pearls are freshwater or not, and whether they are natural color or dyed. Examine closely and ask questions from the vendor.

Thanks to this thread, I now need boroque pearls! They are so different and beautiful!
My TJ Maxx had a few pairs by Honora.. No idea about quality or if they were even real.. But they were very pretty!

Baroque pearls are the way to go! Think about getting a pair of baroque earrings too. Jewellers tell me that getting a nicely matching pair of baroque pearls is a multiple times more difficult than finding a normal pair of pearl earrings.
