Gucci refunded the bag but didn't provide an exchange, said I would need to re-order. I'm now rethinking ordering it entirely and maybe purchasing another bag instead. I'm not sure I liked how unstructured and flimsy it felt and really should go for something that makes my heart sing. We shall see!

I personally still prefer coated canvas, but it's good that you returned it.

Whew! I’m so glad I read this. I had just ordered this bag from MYTHERESA and was able to cancel the order. I can’t baby a tote bag!

My experience could've just been an isolated one with the flaking but overall it definitely felt less sturdy compared to other items! I'm tempted to grab the all leather or coated canvas version of this tote but haven't decided yet

I purchased this tote in Rome in October. I used it a few times, the leather began flaking at the opening of bag. I brought it back to Gucci South Coast Plaza. They couldn’t replace as these bags are no longer being sold. They allowed me to exchange for another tote. Outstanding service!

I'm glad it worked out for you. The bag was a only a few months old, I think it's only reasonable they gave you an exchange.
