Ophidia Tote in denim

To celebrate a new job (just a lateral move but something MUCH needed), I treated myself to a new tote for work. I've spent some time researching different totes from different designers but after seeing the newer Gucci Ophidia in the denim, I couldn't pass it up. I seem to be a diehard Gucci enthusiast and have trouble venturing outside of my comfort zone haha. I already have the WOC and don't necessarily like to be matchy-matchy (I use the WOC for every day) but I ADORE this print. It is so beautiful, so classic, and I want to bathe myself in it. I know it's not for everyone but I love it much more than the classic canvas (which I also own lol).

Does anyone else have this tote or other bags in the denim? My WOC has held up very well since January and I am *not* careful with it whatsoever so hopefully the tote will fare the same!

Here she is! Wore to work today and I do love it. I am concerned about how it will wear as the denim is not backed by a leather backing unlike my WOC so it feels less sturdy and is not structured. I may need to baby this one a bit more than my other bags but we will see.

What do you guys think?

Nope unfortunately not I think the denim will fare better than other fabric types but I was hoping it would be coated or at least backed by leather. Still not enough of a con to return it because I'll definitely get use out of it.

Welp, it looks like the trim on the denim styles is very fragile. Already having an issue with flaking. Looking to see if I can exchange for another item entirely now or if I'm only able to get a replacement. So sad, I love the look on this! My matching Jackie WOC has had some similar concerns with minor flaking too but that one I've had for months and am pretty rough with it. Didn't expect to see this happen after a couple wears!

Beautiful tote! Hopefully, you'll be able to get it exchanged and maybe that one was just a bad one-off. Such corner wear shouldn't happen after only a couple of wears, IMO.

Hopefully mine is not the norm! I do feel that the trim on this is a bit less hardy but my Jackie WOC has been thrown around a ton and just has Itty bitty flaking so the tote shouldn't be having this issue already. I think it's a lovely bag and I'm really hoping the replacement doesn't have the same issue. If it does, I guess I gotta just deal with it and baby it.

Gucci refunded the bag but didn't provide an exchange, said I would need to re-order. I'm now rethinking ordering it entirely and maybe purchasing another bag instead. I'm not sure I liked how unstructured and flimsy it felt and really should go for something that makes my heart sing. We shall see!
