Strange question… I just bought the GM in reverse mono and the straps are super soft. I am surprised since I have the black/mono canvas customized speedy and the black leather is so stiff on that. This was an impulse buy lol… are all the black straps soft? I hate to use the word flimsy but somewhat flimsy…

the straps are soft but not lambskin soft, it's softer than new speedy damier ebene strap, similar softness to speedy vachetta leather strap
Yes exactly! It definitely surprised me. However, after using it this morning I actually really like that they aren’t as stiff as the DE neverfull.

Hi there! I have an OTG GM in empriente and this is the second time my straps have begun to peel. Anyone else have this issue recently and what was LV’s solution? I’m pretty sad, I don’t use it often. If it was wear and tear I’d be fine, but it seems like it’s just happening 🙁
I have the same problem with my straps. Brought it into LV and was quoted $400 to replace them. SA warned that the problem would recur and suggested that I wait until the straps were more frayed before shelling out for the repair. I use my bag regularly for work and travel.
Dang $400 is steep. I don’t use the bag often. Maybe I’ll bring it in and see if they give me the same quote. I love the bag but now I’m wondering if I should have bit the bullet and traded it for another style when they offered it to me the first time😭! Thank you for the reply ❤️
I have an MM and not a PM, but I can confirm that my MM did the same, and did it quite quickly. However, mine has not gotten any worse over time. I do take care to store it carefully with the sides supported by an organizer, and making sure nothing is compressing it.
How does the PM do as a daily bag considering it doesn’t have a closure? I’m used to that with larger tote style and I typically have my Alma’s open a little bit but unsure if SLG’s would fall out. I’m looking at the bicolor empriente in black or turtledove. 😍
I just started using mine and I love it. I’ve realized that this size and style of bag works best for me. My Garden Party is my everyday and Ive tried switching to other bags like the multi pochette, Camille, etc but I kept going back to it. This is the first bag (in awhile) that’s been able to give my Garden Party its much needed break.
