I got the large for my mom who is 5'5, it does seem a teeny bit large, and she has noted that it tends to gape open, I think it's also because it's in the softer calf leather.

I got a small tote for myself (5'4) and think the size is great. It's also in canvas which is more sturdy so I don't mind the lack of a closure so much. The size difference is quite significant though, if you're planning to use the bag for, say, the beach or work documents, I can see the large size being more practical.

It was definitely difficult to find a small tote, when I was looking it seemed like most retailers just don't stock this size. But good news - Colette still has small totes left in all the new calf colors (Peony, Sand and Moss), and My Chameleon in Australia has a small Black/Ballerina for pre-order.

Thanks chiaze for the helpful info. I actually just found a small tote from PS Dept for pre-order and it will ship next month. I'm glad I got the small one after reading your post as I don't carry a lot of stuff even for work. The price increases for the next shipment are no joke though! Either way, I'm glad to have secured one.

They had a couple of color options avail on PS Dept if anyone else is looking for the small tote.

I think we've all gotten very adept at rationalizing why we need all these bags! But yes I agree with you that the canvas is very different.

Since you previously said you prefer Cammello - there are small totes in Cammello with Dolly/Azzurro/Rosa available from La Prendo and delivering in early August. It's a shop in Singapore but ships internationally for free.

Call them directly and need to secure your spot with a non-refundable 50% deposit.
