I was just at a MK outlet last week and a girl was exchanging a white pebbled leather handbag that had colour transfer. She was in front of me in line and they were great to her. She bought the bag back in September and said something about a one year replacement, and happily sent her on her way with her new bag and a few extra goodies she purchased.

Why can't LV be as accommodating?

I'm just gonna stay away from dark colors with this bag. I bought it again because its one of my fav colors and matches my wardrobe perfectly. At Macy's u have 90 days to exchange, if anything else happens l'll just raise holy hell mention the previous issues and exchange it for blk or navy!

Actually, I think returns mailed into the actual site may have 90 days but I was told that for in store returns there isn't a time limit on most items including MK, Coach, Dooney, etc. I was buying a Coach bag and was worried about color transfer and I asked a SA and they told me that if I ever have any issues just to return or exchange...told me no time limit no matter what the reason. Its a great policy and i hope that people don't abuse this policy and buy and carry bags only to return months later!

Yup. I'm convinced that had I not used the MK rain and stain it never wld've happened in the first place. The MK manager was in Macy's she tracked one down, picked it up, and had it waiting in the store for me when l arrived. She apologized for my situation and told me she hoped I wld still love the brand! I thanked her profusely, and even ended up buying another item. She was GREAT!

You know what I've never in my life had a problem with color transfer and soon as a mk SA talked me into getting it 2 mk bags I got the day after using that spray did the exact same thing!!!! I will never use that stuff again I have user appleguard stain and rain repellant on my MBMJ and my mk's not a problem also like how it dries instantly and is ready to go you don't have to wait a day..

So glad you were able to exchage--that bag is gorgeous!! Interesting about the Rain and Stain: when I got my blue Hamilton, I wasn't sure if I should treat it with the R/S, so I emailed MK Customer Service asking them about it and they responded and told me NOT to use R/S on saffiano leather, BUT they didn't give me any suggestions about what to use?! The exact reponse was "no, we do not recommend to use Rain and Stain on your saffiano leather bag". Okaaay. :shrugs:

Wow! The MK boutique told me yes and happily sold it to me! I did read the directions and it said nothing about saffiano leather.

Yes! She looked right at me and said yes you should spray that with your MK spray! And when I asked I just said is it ok to protect it with a rain and stain repentant didn't say anything about the MK spray I tossed that long time ago she is the one who suggested it and actually tried to get me to buy a bottle!

Thank goodness you got to exchange yours!!

What would you suggest i do with my white soft leather hamilton? :s I was thinking a spray would help, but hearing your horror story, is it a good idea??

Just my opinion since we both have the same horror story with the mk spray I was terrified to use anything else on any of my bags then did some research on tpf and tried out the appleguard products I've used the conditioner and rain & stain repellant on my softer leathers and sturdier ones and it did nothing other then protect haven't had any problems with there stuff affordable as well :)
