OMG Can't wait - I'm finally getting my pink diamond

Tech Princess- have you done a reverse image search of this ring? I know pink diamonds pretty well and something doesn't look quite right to me, so I did a reverse image search. If you have paid for a pink diamond I would try to get my money back ASAP. I don't mean to be a "wet blanket" to your enthusiasm- but I wouldn't want you to be a victim of fraud, either.

what do you mean reverse image search???

I'm glad that jpup caught that! The set looks beautiful, but it sucks that it isn't what it was advertised as at all. I hope your CC company takes care of things for you!

Holy Moly. Am so very sorry this happened to you.

Maybe someone can come in & explain what occurred?
(I don't buy anything with looking at it first.)

I had never heard of what jpup had referenced (reverse image search), but I googled it after the OP said she had paid for something misrepresented. When I did the reverse image search, this eBay posting appeared:
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?index=0&sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=380566350239

I'm assuming that's what gave jpup cause for concern (and I'm sure the OP is grateful for jpup's discovery!)

Wow, so sorry to hear this...how very unfortunate! A genuine precious pink diamond ring resembling that though should NOT be purchased site unseen. You would want to go into a reputable jewelry store, get the specs and report on a diamond as significant as this one looks. I am so sorry to hear about this. Hope you receive your money back and someone 'socks' it to this jerk jeweler. Keep us posted and chin up! :shucks:

Oh my, I'm so sorry this happened!! Thank goodness your credit card will sort it out! It's scary that there are scammers waiting to take advantage of us. And how great that Jpup caught it, tPF is a great community with members looking out for each other.

To be honest, I think something genuine (with those specs) would be in the 7-figure range.

And there are members here with some pretty amazing pieces.

Agreed..I hope you didn't misunderstand what I was saying. There are plenty of people with the funds to purchase a 7-figure piece of jewelry...but I don't know of a credit card that would allow a purchase of that amount.

I'm thrilled Jpup caught it and was suspicious so she asked for more pics. I saw the ebay listing after she said she revered image searched it and one popped up.. Hell the "stock photos" are even the same photos. I completely appreciate her candor. I have however been banned from pink diamond shopping on the web LOL!

Depending on your credit card, income and credit limits your credit card company will allow that type of purchase. I will say I thought I was getting one heck of a deal because it was not a 7 figure price. It was more than the 28 pounds listed on ebay however.
