I think Katie Holmes was one of the original paid influencers. For whatever reason (agreement to let Cruise rehab his image, focus on her daughter, no need for funds or to keep a low profile) she didn’t work much for many years. But every so often she would take a stroll in a clothing piece that was hyped in the fashion news.

I have no doubt that she was given the item and was paid to wear it. Maybe she did it to stay relevant if she ever needed to come back or maybe she liked the attention - I don’t know her motivation but it was kind of brilliant for the time. Good on her.

I do not even like her but she still has the right to embarrass herself and be an idiot and be crazy af. We can't put all the people under supervision, who don't act like we want to. Maybe she will cross the line further or later, but right now, she doesn't.

Hard disagree, the longer she goes unmedicated, the harder it will be for her to be stabilized.
But she is entertaining the world on Tik Tok with her crazy antics, so whatever.

I still think she’s obsessed with being an entertainer and a performer, and doing these weird things is her way of staying in the media.

I don’t think she’s looking for a paid pap walk or merching some shoes or whatever. She wants to entertain. It’s in her blood to entertain and these crazy things are her only way now. I think that’s why she does them.

I don’t think that she even wants to entertain, I think she wants validation and preforming is all she knows. She can make a video and regardless of whether or not it’s good people will watch it and it makes her feel seen. She’s been surrounded by family/handlers/ect since she was a teen but in reality she’s alone. As Robin Williams said “I used to think that the worst thing in life was to end up alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel alone” .

I agree. She doesn’t want to entertain, she wants attention and adoration. And she struggles with the direct linkage between those three things. Which a lot of child stars have struggled with, with or without also managing a disorder that can complicate that very issue further.

Where the line is drawn between autonomy and free will and conservatorship is a big societal issue. I’m not sure I have any of the answers.

Britney’s fans on Instagram feed her desire for attention when she posts her little dances and stories. That attention isn’t always 100% positive but it is usually supportive and that must be enough.

It seems clear that she hasn’t been following her doctors orders for awhile and she may be consuming substances that aren’t on her medication schedule.

It’s at least that. The woman who coherently read her court statement when she was asking to end the conservatorship is not the same as who we see today. Hopefully she is still under a physician’s care but she isn’t taking her meds (or isn’t taking them correctly). Given the lowlife she picked as her current boyfriend, it wouldn’t surprise me if she’s drinking and doing recreational drugs sometimes.

At that time, I have to assume she was well prepared and on her whole cocktail of prescribed meds to make her coherent. She's an adult now, no one can force feed her meds or make her spend or behave like an adult. Look at Amanda Bynes, these kids were used and spat.
