I haven't been to a boutique lately but I can already see Mud and Aubergine on the BV website so the others should be in-store any day now. Good luck! If you love neutral, earthy tones then you'll be spoilt for choice.

I could not see Mud and Aubergine on BV website yet. I asked my SA yesterday about the Spring and Summer colors, but she said these colors only come in bags and SLG's with special design. They will not come in veneta, etc. True?

Wow it is gorgeous! Is this the medium? According to my SA enablers the US is only receiving the electrique large.

;) You are correct - this is a Medium!

OK, now that is a bag that makes me need to sit down. :faint:

Here are some pix of the Uomo Ardoise Tread Cabat from Edgar at Crystals. The BV Boutique at Crystals in Las Vegas has the only one of these to make it to the US. The price is $16K. It is gorgeous behind belief, very supple, and not as heavy as I expected. I so want this bag but DH thinks I will need an armed guard to accompany me on my travels should my resourcefulness figure out how to fund her acquisition.

Edgar describes the artisan process to create this unique Cabat:

"This hand bag is one of a kind. It is made of Nappa leather and its craftsmanship introduces an important theme in the Urban Carriers collection. The inspiration comes from the automotive world: luxury cars and their mesmerizing peculiarities, such as their alluring interiors, their polished components, and the scenery around them like greasy mechanic shops and endless highways.

In fact, the visual effect of our Cabat recalls the tread of the tires. The result is achieved by combining special techniques which are labor intensive and meticulously performed by our expert artisans.

A crucial step is the preparation of the “Fettuccia”: first a large piece of leather is pleated, then it is cut into several “Fettucce”, and later it is hand woven as our traditional process. Just before the final assembly, a selected team of artisans dab a dark dye on both sides of the Cabat. The striking outcome is reminiscent as the greasy floors of a mechanic shop.

While the original Cabat takes 2 days to be manufactured, this special style requires 3 days. The leather used for this model is double than the amount usually necessary for the original model because of the pleating. Because of this special craftsmanship Cabat Tread bags are offered in limited edition. It is the only one in the US."

Oh my....

It really is gorgeous. One of the things I love most about BV is that it is a subtle luxury, no flashy logos that scream "I'm a designer bag". I think you would be safe, as BV people seem to be a more "under the radar" type. Sort of like a quiet club with a secret handshake. Of course, there could possibly be some BV muggers out there.

However, you might suffer substantial embarrassment when other BV lovers see it and drop to the ground, bowing in worship. I'll follow you around for a day just to be near it. I may be old and gray haired but I spent 25 years working with very challenging teenagers so I'm tougher than I look. As far as the funding, um, yeah, can't be of any help there. Sorry.:smile1:
