Ode to the Victoria

hey there,
I totally fell in love with this bag while surfing this subforum. this is completely my kind of style but I have to ask for your feedback and experiences:
my lifestyle is pretty hectic, full-time job, 2 small kids so I am always running, I teach so running from lecture theatre to lecture theatre, students that come with their pens held up (already have a mark on my speedy vacchetta) and so on.

will this bag suffer (or any hermes for that matter)? do you think it fits this kind of lifestyle - I don't want a bag I have to baby too much as I can't justify spending around 3000 euro and then not using it. I might go pre-loved but even then it will cost.

do you recommend another bag if you think this will not work out? I am also thinking about the bolide, evelyne or jypsiere, although the victoria FT is honestly the prettiest for me.

The Victoria sounds perfect for your hectic lifestyle.. it really is a casual bag that you dump your stuff in, sling and run off with. The straps are pretty comfortable, and will stay on your shoulder.

I like that the zip meets in the middle, so that leaves the option of keeping one side unzipped for easy access while keeping the other side shut so unwanted access is kept out.

If you are worried about pen marks, I would go for a darker color like black or BdP.

wow, have been trying on Victoria several times but still having second thoughts of having one (maybe i tried on the wrong colors :-p) after i see these pics i think i need to get one :)
thanks for the lovely pics ^_^

I love the Victoria bags  They hold a lot and they are light weight compared to many of the other bags.

Bumping this thread for size suggestion. I love Victoria !!!!

I came across a 42cm Victoria. It is dark brown clemence and toile brass hardware. It says dark brown but the color is more like canvas.

Just want to know if 42cm will be too big for everyday bag. Thank you!

It really depends on your frame , I believe............I am using both of my 42cm leather/crinoline Victoria as everyday bags ..............

Ladies, I am seriously considering this gorgeous bag but wonder if at 5'4" (163cm) I am tall enough to carry it off?

I'm wondering the same thing! I'm about your height and whenever I pick one up at H, it seems so big at first. Then I see pics of them when they get a little slouchy and they look much smaller.

Greentea, I would love to know what conclusion you reach as I have been having an internal debate over this since last August! :) I want so much for the Victoria to work on me but wonder whether a slightly smaller bag (perhaps the Bolide 31) may actually be more flattering on me.

Oh my, I am in the same boat...I am hesitating over a bolide mou and a Victoria too...I did try a 42 ans it seemed a bit big on me though I am tall (176cm...)
Sidspy, your Victoria sounds so dreamy...I am off to check your pics with your victoria (or could you post pics?)

sidspy, thanks sooo much, you're the best:hugs::flowers:! I think I just found my next bag. Do you think it's still possible crinoline etoupe? How long did you have to wait for this one?

flower71............I got both of my Victoria off the shelves from Hermes stores......... Etoupe was from BKK , and the RH was from SG........... I am not sure whether they still make Crinoline/Leather combo Victoria...........
