Ode to the Roulis

Got offered this Tiffany like color. It’s the mini roulis. First time I’ve actually seen a roulis in person. Really love the style but was wondering if roulis bags are hard to come by and if they hold their value? I fell in love with the color more than anything!
the wife was offered this bag in this color and the blue was very very nice. I think it was called blue de Nord? could be wrong. ended up passing it but quite reluctantly - she wanted a neutral color for the first mini roulis but will try to get something colorful as a 2nd or 3rd mini roulis in the future. here's a picture of it:
The one i got offered was similar color but the color was blue atoll from the 2019 summer collection. Has she been on the List for a roulis for a while now? I don’t know if I’ll regret passing it up . Love the color, size, style but I don’t think those hold their value as much as the others?
Hmm been waiting but not that long. The missus can be quite patient - “It comes when it comes”. We have a good SA relationship so she’s not super worried. As for value, not sure what to say since she doesn’t really sell her bags.

There is a Roulis 23 very similar to yours, poppy color evercolor, that I have been agonizing over. Do you still get much use out of your Roulis? What are some of the caveats? I don’t need any more bags, but this one is so appealing! I am 5’3” like you, but a mini would be too small for my needs. Thank you to anyone who has input and can talk me out of buying another bag haha!

Hope it is fine that I am chiming in. I am your height (and similar build I would say) and while I adore the size 23 I sold mine as it looked like a bulky briefcase on me. I used to bump into things as the edges seem to stick out and are quite sharp. This also makes the bag appear huge on me as compared to a Constance 24 which is more rounded and looks softer on me. The contrast stitching on the bigger Roulis emphasizes its boxiness.
I know you have no issues with big bags but I personally actually prefer a C24 or a top handle bag for this particular size. It is very easy to handle, though, and fits quite a lot. I wish there was a size in between the Mini and the 23.
Thank you for the feedback, pinkorchid20. As beautiful as the evergrain poppy Roulis with permabrass hardware is, I should probably pass. You addressed my concerns accurately, and I appreciate it. The SA sent me a modeling photo, and it did appear bulky on her. While it’s a practical bag at a good price ($5900 USD), I can save myself that money. Here is a look:
I hope I didn't sound too negative and my opinion might be an unpopular one as I know many people are happy with their regular sized Roulis, so maybe you can order it and try it out for yourself. Although I think the size is a tad bit too small, I still have been on the hunt for a Mini Roulis since I sold my 23 as it still fits more than enough for the weekends/short trips etc. I wouldn't use either of the two as a day/work bag.
In this case, the colour alone would make me hesitate. It's beautiful, but I personally prefer such cheerful tones in smaller bags. I try to remember the bags I know from your collection and at least for H I remember most proper sized bags are in the neutral colour range. The Roulis is not much smaller than some of them.
You were not negative at all. Those were the thoughts I already had. My concern was that it was overly boxy, which makes it appear more bulky on someone as petite as I am. The hardware is beautiful, but since I already have more than enough bags, anything else I buy must be utilitarian. I have already own quite a number of bags the size of the mini. I am still on my quest to downsize and cultivate my collection, but have slipped a couple of times along the way. This will not be one of them. I shall simply admire until I pare down a bit more.
A dumb question, do you think roulis mini can fit similar like a kelly cut? i'd like to fit in a small silkin wallet, a iphone 7 and then tissue and some medicine.
I did get a roulis 23 before but rehome it coz it looks too boxy on me (163cm medium built). Maybe I only wear flats now and think it looks better for taller ladies.. All roulis here are so pretty and I can hardly find one (except Lime) in local stores here... Now i'm on the hunt for a beton/gris perle/gold one.
