I just bought my first beautiful Hermes shawl , the Jardins de Soie 140! I love it! If I do need to care for it, is steam recommended? It sounds like dry cleaning is risky for color fade? Any advice is appreciated

Personally, I hand wash all of my CSGM’s and my silks with Tocca Delicate Wash and allow them to air dry. If unacceptably wrinkled upon drying, I steam the CSGM’s and/or iron the silks. For years I dry cleaned these items and was lucky to never have any damage (color fade, holes from claim tickets, flattened hems, etc.) but after I took the scary plunge to wash them myself, I am perfectly happy with how they turn out...and my wallet thanks me, as well!
