Thank you, dear hopiko!Gorgeous! This is fabulous on you! Congrats!
PbP, I would love to know what to do with that ribbon! I have just thrown out loads of bags and ribbons from my favourite jeweller but can't bring myself to throw out my H ones. Daft, I know.
Eternallove4bag, I have absolutely no choice about whether or not to keep my boxes. I only have a small family of scarves, 3 CSGMs, 5 nineties and one vintage ninety, as I only got into my scarves in April, but I am absolutely terrified that moths get into them. We are never infested but do get the odd one in our drawers that always seem to love the finer fabrics (and once destroyed my husband's kilt). So, into each box goes one little anti-moth sachet as soon as my scarf arrives but I hate the smell and it sticks to the silk more than any perfume. I wish H could do a range of self-adhesive cedar liners, just sized right to stick into the inside of the box lids. The little balls seem useless. I can only dream of having a nice collection laid out in a drawer, just waiting to be chosen each morning!!!
Dear Paulinka, I find that a sachet of lavender, (or a piece of paper towel or cotton pad,) both impregnated with a few drops of lavender oil to reinforce it (mind you keep the oil away from the actual scarf) really deters moths, if put in the Hermes boxes with the shawls. You can also buy natural cedar oil at health food stores, and mix a drop or two with the lavender oil as well. It's not unpleasant, and inexpensive and the smell disperses after an hour or so, when you take scarf out for wearing. I have issues with moths too, and I've lost sweaters to them, but they always stay away from the lavender oil. There's a reason why they always used it storing linen and wool. Works for me anyway. (Love your Savannah Dance, by the way...I got the vivid orange and blue colourway, but I may have to make a return visit, for that lovely soft blue one...it looks so summery!)PbP, I would love to know what to do with that ribbon! Hi Katriona! I did wonder about the oils but was terrified of getting them onto the silk. I have used lavender sachets in the past but really more for making my drawers look pretty (wooden drawers not MY drawers, I hasten to add! [emoji23]) than as a deterrent. Lavender and cedar oil would smell much nicer than the nose - clogging chemical smell I am getting from the stuff I am using just now. I will buy some and give it a try - thanks so much for taking the time to post! Thanks also for your lovely comments re my Savanna Dance; being in the northern hemisphere I think I get to use the cashmeres for about 8 months of the year so a summery one is no bad thing! I loved the orange one but I don't get away with that colour sadly.Dear Paulinka, I find that a sachet of lavender, (or a piece of paper towel or cotton pad,) both impregnated with a few drops of lavender oil to reinforce it (mind you keep the oil away from the actual scarf) really deters moths, if put in the Hermes boxes with the shawls. This is soooo beautiful....
Croisette, what a special shawl.,I happen to love Iris about equally to peonies. Definitely on my list to try on. Hoping the greys blue and yellow won't be too similar to my Sieste shawl. Looks amazing on you dear! I'd love to see them side by side for comparison when you have the time.
Thank you eternal, let us know how you decide!Just stunning dear Croisette! This design is on my list too[emoji173]️[emoji173]️
