Let me think about it. I still think I can do it myself. I remove tags from clothes all the time but with H silk or cashmere, it's too precious to me. You never know whether you would be able to find a replacement or not should anything goes wrong.

Totally agree, that's why I leave the tags on, even on mousselines where they really stand out!

OK, so I am useless at being banned…..told myself no more of these things….more than enough already…unless there is a new one that I simply can't live without.

It all happened innocently enough…I went to the boutique to exchange a lagon clic h for a clic clac but that's another story. Anyway, the boutique was chock FULL of the new season's GMs... and once I laid my eyes on this one…well….here it is. My first (and hopefully for my pathetic wallet's sake, last) SS2014 GM. La Songe de la L in cw #6, blanch/vert d' eau/mauve

(and I had to grab the braclets because ….well, you can see why:)

(Warning: If you like pastels, you are in big trouble this season…..)

:loveeyes:Absolutely stunning Hopiko, now wouldn't something in anemone look divine with thes.........

I finally brought this baby home! With months of waiting and eventually it still came after the price increase. *sigh*.

Congrats Twins!
This is my 2nd CCaP GM. I let this colorway slipped away in the airport 3 mths ago as DH chose the white/green Mars shawl (which I adore) over this, I was trying to be a good wife practicing restraints (hv now realized resistance was futile since I bought not 1 but 3 more GMs after that)! So glad to find it on H.com pre-price increase.

If I had been in a chair, I would have fallen like Coco! Holy Cow Hopiko, these colors don't even look real--ethereal and with the bracelets?? Unreal.

My additon.
I was wondering that it was just so simple to get two of the three Shawls I knew I had to have for spring/summer...
Sorry, just one Shawl found the way to documentation, the second will follow....

Mors et Gourmettes Remix:

Beautiful, fresh shades. Stunning.

So happy to be able to finally contribute to this thread!
I've so enjoyed seeing all the gorgeous shawls posted here.
My first CSGM arrived today! :smile1:

Mors et Gourmettes Remix - CW01 Vert/Ciel/Jaune Soufre
Colors are a bit more muted than shown in my quick photos.

Oh darling etoile, I am thrilled for you and THIS shawl has your name all over it. Perfection. Can't wait to see it on you....

I love the pastel colors - but they just don't look good on me. Wish I could wear them! Liked this bright version of Mors et Gourmettes Remix SS14 vert/naturel/turquoise

Not sure if this emerald cw (#13) of Fleurs at Papillons has been posted here. It's much more beautiful IRL (pictures do not do it justice)

Ladies, these rich greens are beautiful on you. Alive and vibrant.

Sorry, just rememberd that I still owe you "leila"...
These are Iphone Pictures, I just wanted to give you an idea of how the Shawl Looks like.
Outfit ist no Outfit, it is "going to bed wear".....

Oh dang. Look at this heavenly cloud.... Do you wear winter white?? Dreamy...

Ladies and gents that live in Los Angeles - does it get cold enough there to wear your GM cashmere/silk shawls? I might be moving there soon and I am debating whether or not I should return for credit a new one I just bought or exchange it for a mousseline?

Actually, mous is not that popular here and BH stopped carrying it for a while; SCP buys it but does not seem to sell as well as other GMs. C/S FLIES out the door- it is very popular in LA and Orange County. A lot of tourists in addition to regular customers buy the shawls I have been told.

To more specifically answer your question-yes, it does get cold enough in the Fall and Winter for them and chilly in the evenings during warmer months. Plus, they are great to keep on hand inside buildings during the summer when you have no control over the AC.

I totally do this too! I'm trying to quit, however-- I was once advised by a museum curator that repeatedly re-folding textiles along the same lines can weaken them over time, as it creates stress on the fabric at the folds. So I tell myself as I take my shawl off not to do it, but then I see those creases and just can't seem to resist following them.

If a fabric doesn't take a crisp fold--and it seems to me that the shawls and the silks don't--then you should be ok folding them. Folding that causes wear would be more of a problem for a crisp fabric like a linen--pressing pleats over time, for example. I am amazed at how durable fabric is. Storing stuff like silk folded for a couple of decades doesn't seem to affect the quality of the fabric. What might be affected by long term storage is the stability of the fabric dyes. I've seen fading around the edges some vintage (60's) fabric from my sewing stash. I've also seen fading on the fold lines of vintage H scarves purchased on line.

already posted in spring 2014 scarves
but need a tribute here too :smile1:

MYH, I am in Los Angeles every few months for an extended stay with my DD and I wear my GMs all the time! Especially at night or indoors because of the AC.
