Ode to Silver

The name is Parade, but I don't know the price.

I notice that the Parade bracelet has several smaller plain links. Sometimes, in a loosely fitting design like this, the heavier links fall to the bottom of the wrist and the lighter links rest on top of the wrist. I wonder if that would be a problem with this bracelet--unless it fits the wrist snugly.

I imagine that with its usual thoroughness, H probably costed out the price of the decorated links and stuck some smaller plain links on the bracelet both to lengthen it and to save on silver costs. (sorry to be cynical, but I've never seen H extend bracelet length in this way before).

I had the Torsade Geant bracelet for a while. The big loop on the top of the bracelet would flop to the bottom of the wrist. Finally, the little bump that held the bracelet shut fell off. Some H bracelets have ingenious hidden closings, but the Torsade Geant was not that well designed, IMHO. Got rid of it.

Interesting point about the plain links - I wonder if it has to do with the closure and the difficulty in getting the chunkier links through. I have suddenly developed more of an interest in Torsade, but the one thing I was worried about is the heavier clasp part rollling around to the bottom of my wrist. Thanks for the tip, Eagle, based on your comments I think I will pass. After all, there are several other H bracelets I covet!!

Thank you, plumtree! Have you seen it IRL? Is it chunky? (looks chunky, love chunky).

I have and tried it on. There were too many things I was thinking about that day so I decided to think about it. I didn't try it on for long, admittedly, but didn't notice any issues about the plainer links falling to the bottom. It seemed to me (quick look) that the links were pretty evenly weighted). Sorry for those of you hoping to find a reason to pass!

You read my mind!

I have the torsade geant too and I don't have this problem. Must be my fat wrists.:p

I haven't written Torsade Geant off entirely - just will be sure to buy one that I can try on...have seen them on eBay, but I think it is too difficult to get the size right unless one can actually try it on. Lovely bracelet, I think!! Suddenly I am feeling like I need a million H sterling bracelets...sigh...

I've seen a model in Paris Vogue years ago wearing the Torsade Geant and the big fat link had slipped to the underside of her wrist so the Torsade was just too big! I tried stacking mine while I had it. I don't remember that that worked maybe b/c I couldn't get a stack that combined well. But I saw a TG recently in a case and I have to say it looked real striking, real good!

Plus, in my case, the little do-hickey--a little silver bump--that fastened the bracelet fell off. It was hard to believe that such a chunky heavy bracelet was designed to be closed by a silver bump not much larger than a pinhead! I mean, H is magical but not that magical!

On the other hand, I really like the Torsade braclet (the much smaller version) as a stacking bracelet. The Torsade is easier to get and much, much less expensive.

And a couple more :

Thanks for letting me share my new obsession.

And now my eyes keep straying to the silver section.

I missed out on a necklace with CDA in varying widths - does anyone know what's its called pls? Thank you!
