Scarves Ode to Parures de Samouraïs

Not to mention, I walked in today only intending to buy one thing (something from the baby section) and perhaps one scarf, but I walked out with 5 silks (2 identical samourais) and 4 twillies, plus the baby item. It’s shameful. Every time I’ve walked into Hermes during my trip here, I’ve walked out with something. The price difference is so nice that I seem to be tricking myself into thinking that it’s a very nice deal (financial wise)...

Don't know. You can always try. @momasaurus just spotted a few CWs at H Madison not long ago. Which color is the most popular? :giggle: You asked the wrong person, because..... I bought every CW of this design. :panic::love::love::blush::blush::blush::blush:

Actually, do you find the 14 to be wearable? This design is so lovely that I don’t want to pass it up when it’s available, but the colors did not work for me. And honestly, with these scarves it’s more about the colors than the pattern, in the end. Tried on the 14 again today and it didn’t do much, I thought. It was nice, but too much red that did not seem to work for me. Dunno if it’s worth getting it for the design.

LOL well done! I don’t blame you

I was at Hermes FSH again today (most likely last visit before I leave) and they had several of the 05 cw! The 08 and 14 as well. No 12 this time. I was so surprised because they did not have 05 just a few days ago (Tuesday I think, or whenever I wrote that I had picked up two). They said they had just gotten these in. November 1 was all saints day in France (a holiday) and a sales associate had suggested I try again for new possible new deliveries a day or two after.

I picked up one 05 for myself, and one for my mom. It seems like a beautiful neutral cw, something I’d be comfortable gifting to almost anyone regardless of their complexion or preferences because it seems like it would go with a lot. If my mom doesn’t like it, then I’ll have a backup or will gift it to someone else  I couldn’t pass up buying a second one!

Wait a minute, so that's altogether 3 CW 05s you were able to get? That is very very lucky! My SA reserved one for me and got a lot of side-eye because a lot of demand for that one and none came in!

I'm no expert but I personally think 14 presents a very specific Japanese vibe. The red is cinnabar. It is very unique. I remember a dear TPFer wore it gorgeously. Her photos took my breath. It would be a nice wall art if not a neck art. But you should only get what fits you.

No, i bought only two, but there were a few more i think! Funny, it must be leftover stock then! So this was a very popular color then?

I meant if my mom didnt like the one i got for her, i would have a backup or something nice to gift someone special :)

Hmm, i see! I will have to trawl through this thread again and see if there are photos of someone wearing it. I wish there was a way to just see the photos posted in a given thread.

Granted my complexion took a turn for the worse after coming here; something in the water doesnt quite agree with my skin! So all scarves look a bit off on me at the moment, frankly.

I found the pictures in the first few pages of this thread! And i saw your collection with the “missing tooth”! Loled so hard at that. Im guessing you remedied the gap:)

You are right, the 14 has a distinctly Japanese/Oriental feel when tied. Its lovely! Actually, seeing it styled like that, I may go back for it. Tomorrow is my last chance as Sunday is closed and then I leave Monday!

I am rather frightened that this pattern will be released in the 140. I've managed to acquire 12 out of 14 CWs in the span of less than 1 month that I've learned about this design—all in pristine condition. 7 of them are on their way to me.

I am hoping those will be pristine as well since they are some of the last remaining CWs in the USA! But I feel quite lucky to have found so many, this late in the game. Plus I was able to buy one or two extras of some, which I plan to either frame or gift. Thank you to everyone who provided photos!!

I shall have two empty teeth in my collection (I remember someone commented on a photo that a missing CW was like having a missing tooth!). But it's all right; I don't think I would have purchased 13 even if I could have. It would have been nice to see 01. But I got the colors I wanted most.

I've absolutely gone mad for these scarves. I'm scared to properly count, but I think I have over 20 orange scarf boxes from Paris/London/USA. Just from the past 2 months.

I always thought the silks were difficult to wear (personally) due to my age (I was recently in my 20s, but no longer- ahaha). I always went for the cashmeres. But I picked up my first silk in London last month (Flowers of South Africa, in the lilac color) and that just set everything off. This is a very dangerous forum!

Oh, you have no idea, it's called a 'slippery slope for a very good reason!

You're right, it is only 12.

But that is strange. The CW chart, where the CWs are numbered, jump from 08 to 011. Does that mean 09 and 011 exist?

I got this image from TPF btw. Had it downloaded to my computer while I looked for these scarves.
