OCD Anyone?

Not in the least. When I buy a bag I just give it the once over at the store and if it looks OK, fine by me. I don't expect it to be perfect and figure it's going to be worn and used and won't be perfect forever anyway. And that's me about shopping for anything. I work PT in retail and am blown away by some of the things that bother people that I never would think of in a million years.

I'm a bit more anal after I have my bag - I won't carry anything that could leave odors or marks in my bag - no writing instruments, perfume, etc. I won't set it down on counters or floors - even car floors and if it doesn't have it's own chair in a restaurant I'm uncomfortable all through dinner.

It's funny that I'm not OCD about the actual purchase but am about using it.

I just find it wierd that you can have a dog AND be a neat freak! (No offense intended) Doxies shed, no?

I don't have OCD about bags. I do have OCD about washing my hands, but hey, I don't get sick! And food, people would say I have OCD about what I eat. I noticed recently that it freaks me out to shop for produce on a busy grocery shopping day, and I prefer to check myself out so the cashiers don't have to touch all my food. :weird:

The purses I buy just have to be good enough (well made) and not have flaws that would be too noticable after normal use. I often tell myself "the imperfections in the leather are part of the natural beauty of the product".

Abby gets a bath once a week and brushed every other day so she doesn't shed much...and she gets a PAWDICURE once a month! lol

I'm a bit OCD about a few things. Buying full price anything has to be 99.9% perfection. LOL

In restaurants I either put my bag on a napkin in an empty chair or hold it on my lap or the strap over my knee. I never sit my bag on the floor or carry things like perfume or pens/pencils. I prefer the FP boutique but the outlet is ok for small accessories. I bought one delete from the outlet but returned it...it just didn't feel or look right for some reason. The rings on the strap seemed too lightweight and plasticky. The MMF bags I'm just not drawn to at all.

I use a veggie wash on all fruits/veggies...wipe cutlery in restaurants, won't touch door handles and wash my hands a lot.

I'm not so much OCD with cleaning house like I used to be but everything has to be in its place. I have four dogs (indoor) of my own and usually a foster too. Four are rub and buff, short hair breeds and they get a wipe down from head to toe at least two/three times a day. The oldest, a Lab x, drives me nuts with her hair but I just have to deal.

So yeah, I'm a little OCD about several things but still manage to live and enjoy life.

I am not going to go as far as to say that i have "ocd" when it comes to my bags but, when we are in the car i will ask my daughter to place my bag in the back seat (3rd row away from everyone!) for protection and my daughter takes the bag and "chucks" it into the back seat hopefully landing in the back on the seat and not the floor- most of the time it does but stuff falls out. I tell her every time to please be careful and place it in the back. Her response " mom i am only eight and your bag weighs a ton be happy i can lift it"
2 funny!

I have a little OCD in me.....with my bags I do like them to be pretty near perfect when buying them or using them. I do not put them on the floors in restaurants, movies, cars, etc and I would do the same thing, if there is not a seat for her then I will hold her. I check them daily for scratches and stuff like that and if I notice one I will try and buff it out or rub it out, I am like this with a $600.00 or a $30.00 bag. At work at my desk things are in its place and very neat. If I turn the volume up/down on the radio or TV it has to be on an even number, like 20, 22, 24 etc. Thats the only ones I can think of for now.

I LOLed at the even number comment, I thought I was the only person who did that :)

My bags can't touch the floor. In the car it has to be in the seat beside me or in the backseat but touching nothing. I have a special drawer in my office for my bag, and I've lined it with white computer paper so nothing from the drawer will get on my bag. I also check my bag daily for any stains or anything that I can take care of right away. When I switch out bags, the one I'm done with has to be completely and perfectly stuffed with tissue and put back in its dust bag, stored in my closet. I usually keep my bag on my dresser when I get home after work and when I'm asleep at night, because I'm super paranoid that my cat, Simon, might decide to scratch his claws on my bag one day if I leave it on the kitchen table. My husband left some of his favorite boots out in the living room a couple years ago, and we heard this awful noise.....come to find out, Simon decided to use his boots as a scratching post.

In restaurants, I just put my bag on the seat/booth beside me, but I make sure that it's far enough away that no food will get on it.

I also wash my hands before I switch out bags. I wash my hands alot anyway.

My sister is OCD in the fact that when she washes clothes/sheets, etc., if she's folding them and something happens to touch the floor, it has to go back through the washer. She's OCD about a ton of other stuff, too.

My mom, on the other hand, puts her bags on the floor, ANYWHERE, and it drives me crazy. She also doesn't keep her bag cleaned out and I'm crazy OCD about my bag being organized and clean all the time. Her bag is constantly on the floor of her car. We are SO different in the treatment of our bags.
